That's the reason why most people view Fox News as a farce rather than a reliable source.
Well, the picture isn't legit (it's a cracked shoop). Problem is: 1. Fox owns Astro. 2. Government is run by overly religious imbeciles. 3. The government has imposed a ban due to a fake image in the past- it has happened before. 4. The imbeciles love jumping on things they deem un-islamic without understanding the underlying message or caring about the overall structure of the show, including raping an episode of Rugrats just because it contains pigs and raping a Little Lulu short even though the message was that if you play truant, you'll turn into something bad (in this case, you turn into a pig). Saying that something "enforces Christian values" is enough to make a show direct-to-video or have it delayed for months while a pointless debate is fought out in parliament.
That's why I despise theocracies. Too much drama for too mundane a reason.
My sis' laptop went kabouteries again.

7 hours of my life wasted reinstalling Windows. In the course of the repair, I gave it a major RAM boost. It was running on two bars of Micron 256MB DDR2 RAM, giving it a whopping total of 512MB- a large sum back in 2005 when she bought it. It now has the two 1GB bars from the now deceased Eva 1. So far, I've seen a marginal performance boost. It's bottleneck is the single core Pentium-M CPU and Centrino 1 chipset, but because it's clocked at 1.83GHz and actually has a discrete ATI GPU, it's actually a little bit more powerful than Violette 1.

Currently, it's installing upgrades for Windows updates. Still a few more to go.

This time, I'm going to make it hard for her to shoot herself in the foot. I will have add-ons in firefox that blocks malicious scripts installed against her permission, and I'm going to use Spybot-SD to jam out sites that hosts malicious code. And on top of that, I'm going to make sure updates get applied whether she likes it or not- automatic updates are now on by default.

Ow.

Well, you could have actually tried to remove the malware with Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware or something else rather than reinstalling it. This past summer at the local community college where I was working, two of the computers in the science center computer lab got rogue anti-virus software on their main student user accounts. How did I get rid of it? I logged in as an admin and eliminated the rogue AV because it was only installed in the Student user profile folders, and thus, when I logged in as an admin, the malware didn't run at all! You could have just logged in as an admin or created a new user account and got rid of the malware with Malwarebytes. Granted, you could only do that if you knew the admin password on her computer, or were able to create a new user account despite the malware being active. If that happened, you could have not had to reinstall Windows at all!
Oh come now, no one important takes Fox News seriously. Everyone knows they just make things up. They're called Faux News for a reason.

I avoid Faux News due to my liberal leanings, but then again, I try to avoid politics altogether. Nothing but nastiness.
Most conservatives also know that Faux News just says nonsense. Anyone could do a more thorough reporting job than they do. Faux just wants to sit around and make fun of people for no reason, and pretend that this makes them good Christians when it does just the opposite.

I wanted to do that. Problem was, whatever malware that was, it mangled the Windows partition beyond repair. She said that she was reading a colleague's blog when the laptop blue-screened. When restarted, it gave an "Operating System Not Found" error. Linux doesn't recognize the partition, and the Windows XP CD in Recovery Mode said exactly that- filesystem could not be repaired, even if I gave /f and /r. The only way out was to reformat and start from scratch.

They even went so far as calling Grand Theft Auto a "blood-drenched digital killfest", just to make moolah over an already-sensationalised scandal. GTA's violent, fine. But it's the idiots who cause the controversies, and the so-called "moral guardians" who mess things even further.

@Dave - Ouch. Reminds me of that Redlof virus, except that the latter borked up the MBR, which is generally trivial to fix if you know what you're doing.
