I proceed to uninstall Microsoft Office for Mac 2011, since I can no longer legally have it installed because I am leaving DSU. Quick story: I bought student licensed versions of Office from the Business department last semester, for only $25 each. One problem...the license belongs to the college, not you. So if you withdraw, you are required to remove the software from your computer systems.
I followed this guide from Microsoft on how to remove Office 2011...

I follow it according to the instructions given, and it was removed. All well and good. But, Yahoo Widget Engine stops working.
I use Yahoo Widget Engine so I can peek at the current weather conditions on my desktop. At first, it would run, but it was horribly broken. So I proceeded to uninstall it using a program called "AppDelete" along with Yahoo Messenger. I then reinstall Yahoo Widget Engine.
Now, it won't even launch at all, crashing immediately upon starting.
Im not sure if it was a botched Office uninstall, or something AppDelete did, but Yahoo Widget Engine no longer works, and I uninstalled and reinstalled twice already. Still no dice.
Now I am worried that other applications may be affected by this.
So, I decided just to reinstall Lion from the recovery partition to be entirely safe. And I am just going to do all the backup stuff while I finish packing up my stuff. Lion is getting reinstalled before I go back home.
Thank goodness you can redownload purchased apps from the Mac App Store. I have a lot of them ranging from Games to the "iWork" office suite.
I really wish Microsoft still included an uninstall program with Office 2011.
EDIT: Some fonts don't look right in Safari now. Thanks M$, if you really did help break Lilly today.
