PayPal has done a number of not-nice things, unintentionally. It froze voice actress April Winchell's accounts when she was raising money for needy children for Christmas, as she collected so much that PayPal got suspicious and froze both the charity account and her regular account. People spoke out about it, and PayPal paid its damages.

I know this because I currently am obsessed with Cruella de Vil, who I'm going to dress as for Halloween this year, and April Winchell voiced the animated TV series version of her. The way I imagine Cruella is as a combination of the novel versions, the different movie versions, and the TV series version. Granted, I just go with what I like best from every version, as I do with every character that has more than one canon. I imagine Grapes as mostly like the 2000's version, with the 1980's version's vocal quirks and implied lack of ability to smell, for instance.

This limited edition doll is currently on its way to me. I'm tracking it right now. It's in Tennessee and I'm in New York. Heh, the doll's hair somewhat bears a resemblance to Grapes' hair, especially in the bangs.

Blackberry Bun Wrote:Never mind me saying boring week. This wee is a bad week. Things did not go as I have expected, and I now feel as if the world is falling apart.

Some things are still not unfolded yet, though. I'll hope for the better, or brace myself for the worse.

What on earth happened? You have me worried!
First of all, I'm glad to see that you seem to be doing fine. Good luck and have fun in the Halloween. Too bad it is not celebrated in my country.

Sorry for not being clear in the first place. It was just about my midterm exam results. I felt that I had done well and I was confident to get great marks, but I only got B in one and C in another. There are still the remaining courses in which the results are not revealed yet, and I'm less confident about those than the revealed ones.
Oh, just great. I upgraded Dongwa to Ubuntu 12.10 and SLI stops working. The diagnosis seems to indicate a bug in the Nvidia drivers where it's flagging the two GTX260 and the nForce 750a as unsupported for SLI. I've sent a bug report to NVidia, hope something good comes out of it.
Yeah, I'm doing all right. James is ... eventually going to be all right. He does regret what he said in September.

I was worried that something catastrophic had happened, Sandy. Then again, it's in my nature to worry too much. If it makes you feel better, I've scored better on what I thought I'd done worst at before and worse at what I thought I'd done best at.

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. I wish every country celebrated it. I wish every country celebrated most holidays! That is, I wish every country celebrated real holidays, not federal "holidays" a.k.a. randomly assigned days off with no significance.

Shall I pinch myself in response to someone here actually not mentioning how much they hate villains? I was all set with a speech and everything, and it was completely unneeded! Big Grin
Does anyone still get the login/cookie glitch with Incapsula?

Firefox with Greta....no login glitch.

Google Chrome with Lilly....no login glitch.

Safari with Lilly....login glitches a'plenty.

There are a couple other problems with Safari v6 and cookies, such as eBay. I prefer the tile view for search results, and it keeps resetting to list view. I don't have that problem with Win7 Firefox AFAIK.

Issues similar to this are what drove me away from Linux full time. Ubuntu had issues with Wendell, where the display brightness couldn't be changed if I used the proprietary ATI drivers. Even routine system updates can completely break a Linux install to the point of reinstallation. Sad

Well, it's definitely starting to affect me. I can't post at the board's normal URL with Safari for iOS now, and it's also affecting Opera Mini on all my phones and Chrome on ChaCha. No problems with Firefox and Seamonkey tho.

Federal holidays with no significance?

There are a couple federal holidays in the US that are significant, such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Independence Day, Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and Thanksgiving. Other countries, I'm not so sure since I don't live in those countries and don't know about their major insignificant federal holidays.

One such federal holiday, Columbus Day, is not celebrated in South Dakota. Instead, we celebrate Native American Day, honoring the people who were here before Columbus arrived. We were here first you know. Wink

As for Halloween...this year, it will be a somewhat lonely one for me because that day is on a Wednesday, and my parents shall be away that day for those radiation treatments that my dad is going to get. But, I shall make the best of it by watching a movie, making a special dinner, and eating some candy.
Oh, I know. There are also federal holidays that are not significant.

Character comparison time! This time is strictly visual. I've never seen an episode of the anime, and I found these characters because I was looking for characters that look like mine and Sandy's characters.

The anime is Shuffle. The main cast bears a striking resemblance to the biological daughters of certain siblings. Some bear more striking resemblances than others.

Quote:Kaede - Mango Jubilee

1, 2, 3

2nd Place Lookalike

Nerine - Persimmons

1, 2, 3

5th Place Lookalike

Primula - Pomegranate Parfait

1, 2, 3

1st Place Lookalike

I don't recall how I found Primula. I do recall that her resemblance to Pomegranate was what caught my eye, and I then found out what the rest of main cast looked like.

Sia - Mocha Chiffon

1, 2, 3

3rd Place Lookalike

Asa - Lunaris

1, 2, 3

4th Place Lookalike

What do you think, Sandy? Would you match any of the characters differently, or place the order of most to least matches differently?

Some notes:

- If Nerine and Asa had hair colors closer to their respective matches, the order might be different.

- When Persimmons grows up, her body shape will be like her mother's, which means it will also be somewhat like Nerine's shape. Mocha will grow up to have a shape similar to Sia's, and Lunaris will have a shape somewhere in between Asa and Nerine's frame. The others are fair enough future matches, I think, although ironically, the others are the 1st and 2nd place matches.
I'd place Asa on the last place actually. Not only the hair color is very different, Asa doesn't have Lunaris' ankle-length braid, though I see the resemblance on the front part. For the rest, I pretty much agree.
