Trying the Opera web browser once again.
I found a nifty little program that allows me to download YouTube videos without using a Firefox extension, so I am currently trying out the latest version of Opera. So far, the browsing experience is somewhat faster than Firefox.
The video downloading program? Something called "iLivid Download Manager" that I see advertised everywhere. I had suspicions about it, and I googled for information about it. I decided to give it a test run under Lilly's WinXP VM, and though it does come with bundled adware, you can safely opt out of it. It first offers to install something called 'SearchNu" that includes a toolbar and search page changes, but uncheck the boxes, and it doesn't install. It also comes bundled with something called "Torch Browser", which is a customized Chromium browser that adds multimedia capabilities such as BitTorrent and video downloading. Aside from BitTorrent, the Torch Browser seems redundant as iLivid itself facilitates YouTube downloading too. I tried it out, and while it's fast like Chromium browsers, it's nothing special. As with SearchNu, you can opt out of installing Torch Browser. I didn't since I could test it out.
And now, I need to go and make me a late night snack.

Unless if the New Years Holiday lasts that long.... or if there is a public holiday that I don't know about. Or if you are just taking a break from work.
And Sandy, I always notice that you keep your posts very short, unless if it's something important.

Semester holiday. The college I'm enrolled in now gives very long holiday after each semester. I was surprised myself when I got to know it. If I was still in my previous college, the holiday would have ended last week.
Maybe I forgot to tell this, but I resigned from work since July and then I enrolled in a college again.
