I have no interest in "Daniel Tiger's Neigborhood" so I can't tell you if it's any good.

In other news, I found out my Sega Genesis portable has a replaceable Li-Ion battery... an NP 60-2 type.
Blackberry Bun Wrote:Are those basically instant food, similar to instant noodles? Well, I browsed the site a bit and I found the price to be kinda expensive. Yeah, I know it's the price of the convenience provided by the product, but still... Maybe I'm just too used to spending only between $1-$2 for lunch. Tongue

Similar. The difference is they're designed for mixing with water boiled over coals, not microwaves.

Lucky you! Lunches here are closer to $7 these days! The expense of MH has gone up due to the current economy.

It's not that. I HAVE watched a few episodes. It's just that Leapfrog has now decided that non-US money isn't good enough for them and have blocked international users from buying from the US store (and Daniel Tiger is ONLY available in the US store!).

Even Apple doesn't stoop this low. Only idiots like Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon Unbox/App Store/MP3.

I don't know how people over there make instant noodles, but in here we just pour the seasonings on a plate while boiling the noodles in a small pot with a stove, then put the noodles and some of the water into the plate once it is ready.

The price difference is perhaps because of money value. In Indonesia most basic needs are fairly cheap, but the income of the people are also rather low. Maybe around $100-$200 per month. I'm lucky that my father earns much more than that, but I believe his high income per Indonesian standard is just about average per USA standard.

In the UK, they have things called "Hot Can", which is a self-heating can of food. They cost around the same price as the MH foods according to the Google Currency Converter. Here is how their self-heating process works...

HotCan website Wrote:Inside is a can of food surrounded by an outer can and in the space between the two cans is a water sachet and processed granular limestone (the same basic compound found in some toothpastes).

When you insert the spike into the three holes in the top rim of the can this pierces the water sachet, the water then flows into the limestone and a natural reaction occurs between the limestone and water which produces heat. This warms up the food inside the can and within 8-12 minutes it will be a perfect eating temperature of 60-70°C

Ashens reviewed one of these on YouTube, which happened to be a "Christmas Dinner" variant. Ashen's didn't particularly care for it, but to me, it looked like a rather decent Christmas-themed stew.

Hot Can's entree variety however is very limited compared to Mountain House... they only have six listed variants besides the seasonal Christmas one, which isn't listed there at all. As for being UK only, they would end up being more expensive than Mountain House due to import costs alone.

Despite those costs, I would like to import one of them someday just to experience the self-heating can myself. They should add self-heating cans to those good "Chef Boyardee" canned pastas so I wouldn't have to. Tongue

BTW, here is Ashen's Hot Can review:

So I'm starting to <expunged> get DTNWS (Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood Withdrawal Syndrome). You should experience it for yourself! It's fun(*1)!The theme song loops in your head nonstop along with thoughts of not being able to see the show ever again, and you not only desperately fill in Discovery Kids Asia's and Nick Junior Asia's web form of doom asking them to bring the show in repetitively, it also makes you feel depressed, have insomnia, have the flu and have the Midnight Blues!

*1 He lied.
... And, I just found out that one of my great aunts has passed on.
*sigh*, this month is going down the s#!thole pretty fast...
Learning VB Express lately, and so far, it's rather simple. I haven't got to the hard stuff yet, but I now have the tools to create a customized startup window for both Greta and Jasper.

Want to binge eat, so excuse me while I leave my workplace for a nearby restaurant.

And I also need to go to the bank.

So they quietly launched XBox Live in Malaysia. About time too, my console only has 4 months left in it's life before the 720 aka "Durango" usurps it. However, the service is so stripped down it's just a minor improvement. The only thing added is stores. Aside from that, the XBL gold membership upgrade isn't even available and thus I can't play online at all.
