Hey, Angel! Welcome back!! Smile

In regards to my own computers, I have a Gateway NV57H83u laptop and a Mac Mini Mid-2011. The Gateway is named "Greta", while the Mac Mini is named "Lilly".

Greta is nowhere near as powerful as your Alienware PC, but she works well for my needs. Very basic Intel Pentium processor and Nvidia GeForce 610m GPU w/Optimus, but the games I play are mostly the casual type, like Bejeweled. The best part? I can finally run Webkinz on my laptop. My previous Toshiba laptop couldn't even handle Webkinz, which is part of the reason why I got the Gateway last May. However, I do need to get her a RAM upgrade this summer. Her current 4gb RAM is a cause of occasional slowness.

As for Lilly.... She is probably a tad bit faster than my laptop at times. That Mac Mini was the most expensive thing I have ever bought... and I think it's worth the price. Lilly usually does tasks that my laptop can't handle, such as video encoding and eventually video editing if I can ever get a 64-bit Windows 7 to dual boot with. Greta actually does the video editing tasks at the present, and although it works well, it takes ages to render a video in it's final form.

Here are the full specifications of my current computers:

Greta - Gateway Laptop - Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel Pentium B960 - 2.20ghz dual core
350gb Hard Drive
4gb RAM, upgradable to 8gb
Nvidia GeForce 610m with Optimus (switchable graphics)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 (switchable integrated GPU)
15.6 16x9 LED-backlit Screen (1366x768)

Lilly - Mac Mini Mid-2011 - OS X Mountain Lion
Intel Core i5 - 2.3ghz Dual Core
500gb Hard Drive
8gb RAM (upgraded from 4gb)
Intel HD Graphics 3000 GPU

BTW, Angel, Have you heard of Webkinz before?

My best computer is, well, pretty puny compared to your's. I'm still making do with 8GB of RAM. It's amazing how almost 5 years have passed since I built Edison tho, and he's not even powerful enough to run Borderlands 2 now. However I am still hooked on the game and am trying to continue on despite the choppiness.

I do still power up my PS3 from time to time. The PS4 and XBox One does not impress me, since they're nothing but over glorified PCs. However, I do plan to get the Wii U along with a new TV sometime this year.

*squees as well* ^_^

I'm a dork and like some games that for the foreseeable future are only being put on Sony consoles, which is the biggest reason I'm sticking with them. I only really got Steam because of Humble Bundle originally, but I've explored some PC games and found some things I've liked. The only thing that the Wii U has that sounds super appealing to me is Sonic games.. since Nintendo got them all exclusively and stuff. Smile

Yeah, I figured you guys would do things like that. Which is super cool, but this computer is a huge step up from my Walmart laptop.

No I haven't. I'm curious enough to google it, but at the same time think it might be more fun if you explain it to me. If you would like. Hehe. Smile

You're very welcome. Smile

Was your laptop an HP? I remember someone on the chat telling me they had an HP laptop... but I'm unsure as to who it was. It may have been similar in specs to either Greta or Lilly since both of their processors are nearly identical.

Greta is an HSN laptop. Yeah... found her on a TV shopping channel one night. Seeing as how my Toshiba wasn't serving my needs well, I sprung on it.

Well, Webkinz is a fun site where you can adopt a virtual pet. As it stands currently, anyone can sign up for free and they can get a choice of just a dog or cat, but for a far better experience, you need to buy a Webkinz plushie from your local gift store. Those plushies come in a variety of different animals and species, and the ones I have at present are a Lil' Kinz Polar Bear, Husky, and Seal. The plushies have a special card with a code which you need to enter at the Webkinz site once you adopt your first pet. From there, you can choose the name, whether or not your Webkinz is a boy or girl, and you are on your way!

I adopted the Polar Bear and Husky, and the Polar Bear's name is "Greta" (I use that name a lot don't I? Perhaps I should explain later... Tongue ) and the Husky is "Eleanor". Once you adopt your pet, you look after your pet like all virtual pets... feed them, give them baths, take them to the Webkinz Academy to learn, and have fun at the Arcade and special events around Kinzville. The unique thing about Webkinz is that if you abandon it for awhile, your animal doesn't die. Your Webkinz can never die. You may need to get them a checkup at the Kinzville Hospital if you have been gone for quite some time though, but they get better in a hurry.

Of course, every pet needs to have a comfortable furnished house with all the basic needs and additional decorative features. How do you afford this? Simple... KinzCash. It's virtual currency that you can earn by getting a job in Kinzville or playing games at the Kinzville Arcade. Almost everything in Webkinz World uses KinzCash... food, furniture, you name it.

There is something else that you need to be aware of... there are also "Ganz Points", which is a way to get items that you missed during a special event, such as Christmas. Unlike KinzCash, you need real world money to purchase Ganz Points. Keep this in mind. Smile

Many of the activities at Webkinz World are free, but they do offer an optional Deluxe Membership, which gives you access to even more parts of Webkinz World and several additional games in the arcade. As with Ganz Points, the Deluxe Membership has an annual fee. One year is $44.99. I have been wanting to get a Deluxe Membership, but I don't have the money at the moment. That will change later this month though.

Oh, and if you do decide to try Webkinz, you will get a lot of free food. The log-out carnival is largely to blame. I have so much food.... too much food. Tongue I need to find a way to get rid of most of these.

Typical infomercial marketing gimmick, to say the least. We call them "brick games" in the Philippines, and I think they sell for a fraction of what the informercial pitchen try to hawk. Troll
Narm, narm everywhere.

We call those "brick games" over here too, since they tend to come in boxes that say "Brick Game" in Engrish- apparently to avoid infringing on the copyright Tetris Corp has on the Tetris name, and to differentiate them from real handheld consoles that run Tetris.
Good morning world, even at 2:14pm!

I wonder what I should do today? Tackle the super big mess in my house sounds like a boring but probably smart way to start. Too bad Strawberry Shortcake never had a fun and catchy song about cleaning, I could use one for when cleaning feels all boring.

When I was little I found enough giggles out of the idea of me wearing one of those Alice-style maid dresses and cleaning, sort of made it easier. In my silly little defense, I really just loved and still love the girly feel of the outfit, the apron and the lace and the puffy sleeves and all of that which makes me super happy.I wasn't aware of any possible other reason that people might like to wear such things.

I have acquired my first SSC 2004 DVD... "Berry Fairy Tales".

How many DVDs of the 2004 SSC are there again?

Sure, it's just an Android tablet made to function like an all-in-one PC, but somehow.... I just want it.

Sure, it has bad reviews, but most of the people reviewing the unit don't seem to know how Android works, though they do bring up some valid points, such as having the Android PC shipping with a user manual CD-ROM even though there is no CD-ROM drive present. They are half right about Flash support. You can manually install Flash on this Android PC and use a browser like Dolphin to view Flash content. The Android version this runs is 4.0 ICS, same as Daffodil.

I think the reason why people are so confused about Flash is the sales presentation mentions that the Android PC can play back Flash Video files. The Android PC may very well do so, but they didn't explain how to get Flash videos to play in the video app or the fact it doesn't include Flash Player from the get-go.

Thanks for the help Sandy! Smile

Even though this was a Year 3 DVD, and that I found this DVD at a rummage sale, I'm surprised that the case still has a strawberry scent to it! I didn't even know that SSC DVDs came in strawberry scented cases.
