Wow.....

Going in a very morbid direction here.

Let's fix that....

Thanks! It's great to know that I have some wonderful friends here. Big Grin

I just wish this forum were a bit more active at times.

Chocolate Chipmunk confirms that my old FileBurst account has been recovered and is active. Now I no longer need to use PhotoBucket, which has so many ads that it will make your head spin.... and slow down your browser due to all the flash it uses. Maybe that is why Choc is sleeping now. Tongue

As it stands, I only have the $5 FileBurst plan, which gives me 10gb data transfer and 1gb of storage. It's very skimpy in today's data-heavy world, but for sharing occasional images on this forum, it's no big deal. I ended up with a Fileburst account after my old friend George suggested I get one. He used Fileburst to host all the images he posted at forums and the like. He didn't want to use Photobucket as it took so much time to load on his old 56k modem connection. He did get broadband a year or two before he vanished into the ether.

I have had it since at least 2008, but it fell into disuse, and it was mostly abandoned until today. I need to make my $5 monthly payments worth something.

EDIT: WS_FTP LE Works also!

Is it possible to transfer some of D's free space into C? How? Is there risk of losing data in the process of doing that?

The only real way to gain free space on drive C is to move some data from drive C to drive D. Here, C is the system drive though, so that would probably mean you would have to uninstall some programs and then re-install those to the D drive.

On my own computers, I just throw everything onto the C drive... programs, documents, everything. It's much easier for me to manage that way. However, I do keep my video files (or most of them anyway) and some music on an external 320gb USB hard drive as both Audrey's and Greta's hard drives aren't large enough for all that.

Yes, but yes, there is a risk of losing data in the D partition in the process, hence a backup USB would be a good idea.

Once you've backed up D, Click on Start, then right click on Computers then Manage. In the resulting screen, select "Disk Management". From there on, you right click on D and select "Shrink". Once you've done that you can then right click on C and select "Expand".

It's advisable to check the disks for errors and defragment before shrinking and expanding a disk.

Doesn't that compress the data? If the data becomes compressed, then each time the files are accessed, they will have to be uncompressed, which could result in a performance hit if the system isn't a high-end rig.
I really wish I knew VLC could play RealVideo files without problems.

I was having trouble getting RealPlayer uninstalled. Did so, but then Adobe Audition wouldn't work. Tried to uninstall and reinstall my Adobe suite, but now the setup program won't accept the serial number on the disk set.

Now I need to reinstall Windows on Audrey just to get my Adobe Suite running again.

Though I'm going to try Linux for a while first... if I can find a distro that can run under UEFI and can work with her graphics card.
