Aaaand.... Ganon is defeated and peace returns to Hyrule.

Now, there is a second quest, but since I'm a bit burned out by the confusing maze that is Death Mountain, I plan on focusing on another retro game... Castlevania.

I could go ahead and play Zelda II, but again... Death Mountain. Zelda II is also harder than the first. I was able to get to the final boss, but I didn't succeed.
Harvest Moon: A New Beginning is starting to feel like a freaking chore >.>
I'm here to say that starting Tuesday midnight I'll be away on vacation to Hong Kong until Wednesday next week.

As for the thing I said before, let's say it went better than expected. Thanks for the well wishes.

I know nothing about Harvest Moon, but I still consider Death Mountain in the first Zelda to be more of a chore if you choose not to resort to a walkthrough. Instead of farming and doing whatever it is you do in Harvest Moon, you keep running from room to room, eradicating Wizzrobes, pancake monsters and black blobs, and bombing holes in the walls just to find all the secrets in the dungeon.

But with Zelda, you do make it to the end, while in Harvest Moon, it just keeps going like Animal Crossing, so the action continues.

One question... was Harvest Moon always as frantic as A New Beginning?

Well, get the SNES version of the game, and try to get through one year of in game time.

Wow, congrats!

Seeing as how the game commands prices upwards $100 USD on eBay, the chance that I will acquire Harvest Moon SNES are very slim. I would have to come across a video game seller that has no idea what games are worth, like someone at a flea market or rummage sale.

When you get back, try to make a great post about what fun stuff you did in Hong Kong. Smile
So I got through most of Castlevania and reached Dracula.

Let's just say Dracula makes Zelda seem easy.

Maybe I'll play Fantasy Zone instead.....
Soapbox Rant Time.

Even though I don't want to sign up for Twitter, I found it useful that you could read most Twitter accounts without having to sign up for your own Twitter account. Many organizations, artists, musicians and famous people have public Twitter accounts anyone can read if you aren't a member of Twitter.

Recently, Twitter underwent a big redesign of their site to make it more like Facebook. The redesign is wonderful and they didn't take away the ability to read public Twitter accounts. Unfortunately they had to ruin it for non-Twitter persons by popping up an intrusive sign up window over the feed you are trying to read. See below...

Twitter feed for demonstration is for one great furry artist by the name of "MaryMouse"

This nag screen only appears once every 24 hours, but it shouldn't appear at all. Does Twitter think people are so stupid they won't notice a large Sign Up button towards the top of the screen? Is Twitter deliberately trying to force people to sign up by having this box appear over the feed you are trying to read?

Either way, it's annoying and insulting. I'm going to say this again.... there needs to be federal oversight over online advertising and how it's done. I shouldn't be forced to use AdBlock to rid sites of annoying animated advertisements. And there are other elements that go around AdBlock software, such as this nag screen and those "Recommended Article" slide ins towards the bottom of certain websites.

But I know federal regulation won't ever happen because Conservatives and corporate America will say their First Amendment rights are being violated and such regulation is bound to be dead before it hits the Congress floor.

I sometimes wish Web 2.0 never happened.
I don't know what I'm thinking anymore.
I was thinking about selling off Lars, my PS2 and using the money for more retro games and re-purchasing my old PS2 games later on, but I decided that he will be used with Nanouk V2.

Reason? Anna-Lena doesn't like 240p signals over component. She refuses to display anything in 240p over component, and this renders PS1 games unplayable. Rather than spend more money on a dedicated PS1 console and using up more power strip space, Lars shall be downgraded back to 480i SD. I'll lose the nice 480p picture, but at least I can continue to play my PS1 and PS2 collections with one system.
