FC-16 Go is a winner for portable gaming at a hotel. A fancy hotel (with casino) at that. I was forced to play on a Samsung HDTV with no control over the automatic brightness control or horizontal stretching, but the input lag was thankfully minimal. I could tell it was present though. It helps the included wireless controllers aren't IR, but RF 2.4ghz. Smile

I'm not sure what Samsung model it was, but the built in speakers were amazing. They had far better bass response than either Nanouk, Anna Lena, or my parents LG.
Nah, I want DuckTales Remastered first before I get Turtles in Time Reshelled- if I still can.

Why oh why do I always think about Uncle Lina and tacos whenever I read and/or hear about Ducktales?

I can't get either at present... Turtles in Time Reshelled is only available for PSN or XBLA, and DuckTales Remastered requires both of those or a Wii U. I don't have any of the three systems yet.

I would like to play the original DuckTales for NES first, and there is also a DuckTales 2 sequel. The NES version of DuckTales 2 is rather rare however.

Although I'm getting the PS3 version. Because Sony is kind to me.

Noted on playing the originals first tho.

I didn't even know it was on Steam. Tongue By the time I finally find the original DuckTales and hopefully the sequel, I should have a Wii U by then.

Menards released it's annual Black Friday ad, and sadly, not much is of interest to me. I won't even be heading to a city with Menards, so if anything is left on shelves after Black Friday, I have to pay slightly higher price for it.

However, there is this...
Apparently, they are selling a little home theater projector with built-in DVD player. No brand name is listed, and it also mentions a "GAME" function. This has to be one of those no-name Chinese projector DVD players that are common on eBay. The "GAME" function is mysterious. Either it's merely mentioning you can hook up a game system to this through the AV port, or it has built in games, or... it comes with a disc of NES ROMs like many of those cheap portable DVD players. Menards is a very unlikely place to find a device with NES ROMs, but I found a Plug N' Play game system at Family Dollar containing legit NES games that received extensive sprite hacks.

BTW, I still have that cheap no-name DVD player from Black Friday 2011, and it still works good.

Oh, all the cheap budget Android tablets on offer contain KitKat. I read that you can no longer move apps to the SD card in KitKat due to changes in how SD cards are handled. Apparently it's for security purposes.

Well, my original plan still sticks- unless Animal Crossing comes to the Wii U, I'm not getting one. Because I feel that it's not worth it paying through my nose for all those cash cards (a lot of the online sellers tend to charge a hefty service charge on top of their cards- to buy a US$50 cash card on my 3DS, I ended up paying well over US$60), and that Sony is making the game available to Asia officially. I entertained the thought of getting the PC version for a bit (before Sony made the game available in Asia- it came to Steam first over here), but eventually decided that my PS3 needs a little more love.
'Tis rare for licenced titles to be appreciated rather than end up being yet another dud cash-in for a film or some other property. There's Ducktales as you guys mentioned earlier, and then there are a few others like Vin Diesel's Riddick for the original Xbox. Vin personally spearheaded the game's production, and he and his crew wanted to make sure it wouldn't suck or play like a typical licenced game.

I mainly want the Wii U for the Mario games and to consolidate Elsie's content as well. If Animal Crossing ever comes to the Wii U, I would get that as well. Smile But I still haven't felt I spent time with AC:CF as it is, and maybe in the coming year I will go forward with AC New Leaf for Clifford.

Another good licensed game is The Lion King, released for essentially every major platform and DOS PC in 1994. Great visuals and music, but the game is very difficult in some stages.

One more is Universal Soldier, based on the movie of the same name....

Well, not really. It's just a rebadge of Turrican II since the port developer, Accolade, had the Universal Soldier movie license. Rather than start a game from scratch, they just took the port of Turrican II they had and reskinned parts of the game and changed some levels around. I never seen Universal Soldier, but the game actually is pretty good despite being a rebadge.
I discovered a disturbing trait in classic Konami games from the 90s. If you want to see the full ending of some of their games, you have to play the game on the hardest difficulty setting.

TMNT IV has truly become a challenge thanks to Slash. >.<
