Unfortunately nowadays the "real" news are all about the current war in the Middle East. Not really healthy for my faith in humanity.

And don't worry about me. I didn't fully mean it. And like all wounds, time will mend it... to be cracked again next time. Up and down like a stock market. =P

Quote:It's my Plum's 21st birthday.

And I'm going to meet the voice of 2000s Purple Pie Man!

On Halloween at a theatre party, I won family tickets and backstage passes to A Christmas Carol performed by a troupe from out of state for one night this year. I didn't notice until today that this was the Nebraska group that he's part of. He plays Ebenezer Scrooge yearly. I remember reading about that years ago, and he still does.

So I'm going to meet him! And I only realized it one night in advance!

I need to find something Strawberry Shortcake for him to autograph, in addition to the book A Christmas Carol.

I love A Christmas Carol, and Scrooge. The older boy (barely 12 at the time, 14 now) I adopted who was named Ben is now Eben to differentiate from my brother, and in honor of one of my favorite characters of all time. So there's another connection. I love how connected everything is.

Oh my goodness, I'm going to meet him!
Hope you'll have fun there. Also, give my regards and birthday wish to Novie.
We had a great time!

Cork was shorter than I imagined he'd be, which is usually what happens when I meet people in person after only knowing them through media. Author Amy Tan is very short, and even though she wrote about this, I was surprised at us being over twelve inches apart in height.

Anyway, Cork Ramer isn't nearly that short. In the play, his character is given a scarf too long for him by Scrooge's nephew, Fred, and he says, "I'm not a giant, Fred!" as he struggles to wrap it around him.

The play is fantastically done by a wonderful cast of great people, and if you ever come to the states in December, you have got to watch the nearest performance.

It sure is quite an honour for you to meet and greet the Pie Man himself lol. Wonder if he's up for a Reddit AMA or two.
Well, my Mail2World inbox has been targeted by email viruses. The old fashioned kind where you need to open the attachment. Each email was a ruse about an item that was either unpaid, or ready for shipment. The attachment was an "invoice" contained in a zip file. Research on this email virus shows that it can deliver ransomware, which encrypts your files and forces you to pay the criminals with money of some sort to get your files back.

Both messages were deleted for obvious reasons.
I also decided to check out Webkinz for the first time in ages. I got two new pets I can activate, and wanted to see if Greta, Lars and Robby were alright. They are fine. But, does Ganz really need to stuff both ad boxes with video ads? I had to enable a Chrome setting that only runs Flash plugins when you want them to. I still need to see if Webkinz will work right with this setting as it's still based on Flash AFAIK.

It's 2015. They should switch Webkinz to either a desktop app or use WebGL/HTML5.

How intrusive of them to use video ads. 'Tis no wonder why people are so sick and tired that they'd opt for blocking them altogether.
I have this strange issue with my Logitech M185 wireless optical mouse, and I can't seem to find a solution for it.

You see, whenever I try to move the actual mouse very slowly for precision pixel-perfect movement (Such as adjusting the volume slider in Winamp or editing a movie in Adobe Premiere/Magix), the cursor does not respond at all even if I can feel the mouse moving slowly under my hand. When I use the mouse at a typical speed, such as clicking on icons and in programs, it responds like normal. In fact, the M185 acts like a mouse should until I want to move it extremely slowly for a precision function except that it doesn't.

Would I have to get a different mouse for that purpose, such as one of those gaming mice, or is there something I can do to actually get the M185 to respond to slow precise movements?
I think it might have something to do with the mouse's resolution, i.e. the DPI, but I'm not really that sure.

I was thinking the same way. Perhaps I need to find myself a high DPI mouse sometime, such as a gaming mouse.

Oh, and Lalaloopsy fans... turns out MGA and Viacom are having a battle in court over what else... money.

A contract dispute, eh? Reminds me of when Uma Thurman (yes, the same actress best known for being in the Quentin Tarantino film Kill Bill) sued Handmade Films for much the same reasons, as the Eloise film she was supposed to star in alongside Jordana Beatty fell through years after it was first announced.
