And, the audio sync problems persist. Sad

Here's what I've tried...
-lowering the canvas and output to 720x480.
-Making sure both OBS and the sound device are 44.1khz.
-Tinkering with the audio offset to 90ms, with no real improvement.

Only thing I haven't tried yet is software encoding. I recall that the audio sync problems still existed and I switched to hardware to see if it would fix the issue. As evidenced above, hardware encoding makes no difference.

Searching the OBS forums more, I found out you can use VLC as an input source. Perhaps if I run the audio and video through VLC, maybe that will work?

Bit of a rant: As you probably know, I tend to like my devices to "just work" out of the box. The HDMI capture works without issues on the 2020 Macbook and recordings are in perfect A/V sync, but for whatever reason I just am having the hardest time trying to pin down this dumb audio sync problem with Windows 10. I really don't like having to go out of my way and search for hours and make several test recordings trying to see if any of the solutions found on the forums apply to my specific issue. And if I don't find a similar problem or a solution, then I have to sign up for the OBS Forum and ask my question. There's a chance I will get the help I need if I outline everything I have done so far, but there's also the chance I might get irrelevant advice or not get helped at all. On the Macbook, I don't need to do any of this. All I do is connect the HDMI capture, open QuickTime, set the device as my input source and hit record. You can see why I am considering just getting another iMac or MacBook that can do just that rather than trying for several days to find a solution for my audio sync issues that shouldn't be occurring in the first place. It also doesn't help that Windows doesn't come with a built in video recording program. All the other video capturing programs I've tried so far are either have a very large learning curve, have bad recording quality, or are limited to 30fps.

I guess I will keep trying tomorrow, seeing if I can find something that will fix my problem. If not, then I will start looking at a refurb MacBook or iMac.
I see you posted something on the Low End Mac group though. I haven't tried out any capture hardware yet so I'm sorry if I couldn't be of any help here.

My concern is what is the earliest year model that can record with Intel QuickSync or some form of hardware encoding. Based on responses so far, I would need a Mac with a Sandy Bridge i5 or later. Basically anything released after 2011. Ironically, if I still had my mid-2011 Mac Mini, I could have utilized that as a low end video capture box. I still regret selling it off as it had a pretty capable dual core i5, but it was hobbled by my poor decision to stick with the 5400rpm HDD. SSDs were insanely expensive then especially from Apple, and Lion did run rather decently. It was OS'es after Mountain Lion where the slow HDD began to really affect performance.

Yeah, seller's remorse does bite you back and I can tell with that.
What ever happened to Prue, AKA "Sour Grapes"? Do you have any information on if she's been okay, or what she's been up to?

I just got a FB notification that "celebrated" me friending her several years ago. I decided to leave her a message despite not knowing if she will even read it. When she was still posting here, it was fun and it brought variety to the forum.

I wish she was still posting here, along with Angel, Evalana, and yes, David. I miss those days.

Last time I talked to her was last year when she mentioned about moving to Indianapolis. I hope she's doing fine though.
Also, I find this a case of ComplainingAboutShowsYouDidntWatch, as while I understand his fears about the Mafia remake, I think he went overboard with it and viewed the 2002 original with rose-tinted glasses:

One game I wouldn't mind getting remade is Star Fox Zero. I have no problems with the Wii U original, even the controversial gamepad controls. But many other Star Fox fans slammed the game for the motion controls, along with retconning parts of the previously established storyline as well. Another case of fans bashing new Nintendo games is Metroid Prime Federation Force for 3DS. The Metroid Fandom has been impatiently waiting for the fourth game in the Prime series to get finished, and when this game dropped for the 3DS, the majority of Metroid fans trashed it because it didn't have Samus as the playable character and completely ignored the game otherwise. Most of these fans probably didn't play the game either.

FireAlpaca is rather neat. It only shows an ad when you launch the program, and it's usually just for another FireAlpaca product or one of the developer's games. It's small, and it doesn't pop up again afterward or upon exit. As for drawing, it's sort of like a simplified Photoshop or GIMP. There's layers and all that, and a configurable UI as well. FireAlpaca is also very stable. I haven't had the program crash yet. I'm liking it so far, but if I ever wanted to truly make it as a freelancer, I would probably need to get something more capable such as Corel Painter or sign up for Adobe CC. Most illustrators tend to use the latter, with some sticking with ancient versions thanks to their dislike of the CC model.
And, it looks like John McAfee's long run from the law has met it's end.
