Here in the USA, this is the Labor Day weekend, the so-called "official" end of Summer. Many activities in my town this weekend, like a main street carnival, a Labor Day parade, and much more.
I'm also busy with some things, like trying to update the Android software on Hazel. Samsung is pushing out a 500mb+ update that is taking forever to download even as HD videos download just fine simultaneously! I'm also pondering whether or not to upgrade Greta to Windows 8, leave her as is with Windows 7, or install Linux. I did take a look at a physical copy of Windows 8 Upgrade at WalMart, and it's only $119. I would like Windows 8 Pro, but that is nearly another $100 more. I could get an OEM version though. I also took note that the AMD drivers that shipped with Audrey are generic drivers according to Gateway Recovery Management. That means that I can possibly get away with updating the graphics drivers every now and then. I love foxes, especially the one in my avatar.

I want to play Borderlands 2 again, but my schedule doesn't really allow it.

Truth is, I only played an hour this whole week. Doing some pretty wacky experiments with booting linux from a thumb drive.

I tried booting Linux from a flash drive, but I discovered that you need a very fast flash drive (like a class 6 or above SDHC) for things to load smooth. My Duracell 8gb drive was horrendously slow with Linux, and my 16gb SanDisk Cruzer wasn't much better. With USB 3.0 and a USB hard disk, booting Linux externally shouldn't be a problem. Because these ports are connected to an external controller that isn't part of the chipset, and/or the UEFI BIOS isn't designed to support booting from USB 3.0 devices, usually out of sheer stupidity.
