I think I better stop playing Harvest Moon: A New Beginning for a while. Like Fallout 3 and Borderlands 2, it's starting to mess with my head by giving me weird dreams. This time running around like a madman watering crops with a watering can. Sheesh, don't they have sprinkler systems for things like these?

Based on this, I will probably stay far away from Harvest Moon. I like life simulation games such as Animal Crossing, but Harvest Moon sounds far too hectic for my tastes. I'll stick with other Natsume classics like "Blockids" and "Spanky's Quest". Smile

I lost my copy of Blockids though.... need to find a copy on eBay next.

Lately, I have been playing a game that has challenge, but not so much challenge that it's frustrating...

Super Mario Kart.

The 50cc and 100cc are pretty easy for me. 150cc is where it becomes a challenge to remain in 1st place the entire race.

Rubberband AI much? The Need for Speed games are pretty much well known (and reviled) for such AI tactics.

Rubberband AI isn't as bad with the original SNES Mario Kart in 50cc and 100cc. It only becomes a true challenge in 150cc mode, and perhaps even the Special Cup races in 100cc mode as well.'

The latest and greatest Mario Kart games do have more modern Rubberband AI. I really hate that stupid blue shell. Sad

I think I may need to replace Jelly, one of my loyal MP4 players, sometime soon.

Her battery doesn't seem to last as long anymore. I was able to get at least a 5 or 6 hour FM radio recording on just a single charge, but lately, I'm only able to get about 90 minutes.

There are some troubleshooting measures I still need to try, but if I do have to replace Jelly, it won't be so expensive. The hard part is finding an equivalent MP4 player that can record FM to 128kbps MP3 format without issue.

Computerless, but alive. Hopefully my new battery comes soon.

It's James Junior's fifth birthday.

It's good to hear from you. Smile Interesting you bring up the battery for your computer since I was earlier talking about one of my portable media players, named Jelly (PB&J Otter) whose battery doesn't last as long anymore. Unfortunately I can't replace her battery so I must acquire a new media player to replace her.

Oh, and Happy Birthday to James Junior! Smile

I decided to try SNK Arcade Classics with Anna-Lena. For one, the game doesn't seem to force 240p when she is set to output 480p component. [strike]On a CRT set, the arcade games will run in 240p via standard composite.[/strike] EDIT: Turns out SNK Arcade Classics doesn't run games in 240p. It might be my Metal Slug disc instead.

However... there is massive lag in the games for some reason. I normally don't encounter lag in other Wii Titles or even Virtual Console games. It may be just this particular arcade compilation, but even so it had me thinking...

Most VC games run at their original resolution, and so do some arcade compilation discs. Many standard Wii games also aren't enhanced for widescreen.

Thus, I decided to downgrade Elsie to 480i as well. I may even decide to keep all my VC content on Elsie whenever I do get my Wii U and just keep them separate. It helps, in this particular case, that there isn't a unifying account system between Nintendo systems yet.
