I have had power outages each night lately. Each outage lasted less than half an hour, but it's starting to get annoying. Current streak is 4 days and I hope it will not happen again tomorrow night. Imagine how many electronic devices will malfunction if this continues.

I wouldn't worry about device malfunctions. I would worry more about possible power spikes when the lights come back on. Those can literally destroy electronic devices just like a lightning strike.

Any idea what's causing the outages in your area Sandy?

Today, I got a copyright strike on two of my video mashups, specifically a show that contains clips of a somewhat rare British cartoon. I could have just acknowledged the message and moved on, yes?

No. Now YT forces you to attend "Copyright School", which consists of a video featuring the horrid Happy Tree Friends trying to "educate" you about copyright. You also have to answer four randomly generated questions about copyright as well.

You cannot skip this stupid "school". You can't even change your account settings. Nope. You have to get "educated" about copyright.

This is a load of BS. Sorry to be harsh, but sites shouldn't force their users to complete these belittling quizzes whenever they get a copyright strike, especially if the video that got removed was entirely fair use. For most people, such quizzes insult their intelligence. And, why in the hell would they use Happy Tree Friends? Why not another YT celeb like Ashens or Charlie the Unicorn? Sure, the HTF Copyright video doesn't have violence (I think.. was too upset to actually watch), but not everyone likes HTF due to it's sheer violence.

Because of this, I am done with YouTube. Any future videos after my next TV Playhouse episode are going to a new DailyMotion account. DailyMotion isn't as well known as YT, but they seem far more accepting of fair use works.

Finally... after many years of hoping and wishing...

I am getting my own place to live.

Details to come very soon.

That's 'swell! Although it'll be quite a transition period, and it wouldn't be a walk in the park either.

I already know all too well. I need to get my finances sorted out for one.... I have to consolidate all my student loans and get on a better repayment plan. I also need to make room for my rent, electric and cable TV bills as well.

I already know how to cook for the most part. I can cook most meals that have the instructions on the box and I can follow recipes. I just need to learn how to handle raw meat properly.

Something to which I'm not really accustomed to tbh, although I could hole myself up alone for half a day or two.
