We definitely won't lose anything this time (this is Kiwi's personal server. No one can touch it except those he permits, and that's us) since the server will not be disturbed with. However, expect intermittent connection problems. I'm planning to switch name hosting from GoDaddy (pro-SOPA @$$#()!&$ ) to NameCheap. During this switch, some ownership data must be transferred over and that takes time, and may cause intermittent brownouts.

Woke up extremely early because I had to set up a conference call with suppliers in the US at the office (apparently the best time to call Virginia from Malaysia is 7-8AM). For a colleague that came in late in the end >_<

I want to go home early >_<

Strangely, GoDaddy apparently switched their position to being against SOPA after a lot of their former customers boycotted them. Who knows if GoDaddy is bluffing here....

As for other countries.... Ireland passed a SOPA-style law, and it looks like Canada is next. SOPA.ca anyone?

We also have ACTA to deal with too. There is also another law that is supposed to go into effect on July 1st that allows US ISPs to flag customers and deny them access if they have been caught with "copyright infringing" content.

Sometimes I think about just ending my YouTube video series and closing my account because of all this.

Well, many people, myself included, are convinced they're bluffing. The Register published their press release and analyzed it, and noted how it sounded vague- it sounds like they're changing their position to be against SOPA, but they did not elaborate on it. Neither did they say that they're against SOPA (in other words, they're using a specific type of lie normally used by lawyers- Weasel Words). So many Register readers are changing anyway.

I have found the perfect name for my Curtis Klu....

Herman.

Remember "The Poky Little Puppy's First Christmas?" If not, then it's a cute story about Poky befriending a very friendly animal in the forest, Herman, who happens to be a skunk.

Yes. I named my new tablet after a skunk. Keep in mind Herman is a very friendly skunk and he and Poky do get along quite well without the obvious happening. (the stink that skunks usually make in TV cartoons)

The colors of the Android 4.0 interface, a light blue, match his blue eyes. Tongue

More stuff going into my tablet review thread soon.

That's why the RIAA should be disbanded. Sparta

Lexi, my first Android tablet, has been officially retired. She wasn't a tablet in the first place...she initially had a hack n' slashed Android 2.1 that didn't allow app installs and functioned mostly as an eBook and multimedia reader with limited web browsing capabilities. A later firmware update gave her a proper Android 2.1 OS, but the lack of an actual GPU made it near impossible to play Angry Birds. Then the Polaroid tablet came around. While using the Polaroid, Lexi did become secondary, but didn't get used that much. Now that I have Herman, the old Polaroid can become a true secondary tablet, made easier by the fact that you can sync your purchased Amazon AppStore apps to all your Android devices without repurchasing them!

The Polaroid won't get used much, but if something ever happens to Herman or if I just feel like it, I have another tablet to use. Oh, and the Polaroid came preinstalled with TuneIn Radio, which is normally available only from Google Play, not in the Amazon AppStore. Thus, Herman can't use it until TuneIn decides for an Amazon release.

What I plan on doing now is maybe using old Lexi for Android experimentation, if I get around to it. But first, I am going to harvest her internal 1gb microSD card and put it to use for the Polaroid.

Things that Herman and the Polaroid have in common:
GPU acceleration
Rockchip ARMv7 CPU
Plays a wide assortment of video and audio files

So, here in the USA, we have this certain health care law that is fiercely debated, and it was taken to the supreme court.

I don't follow politics that much, but this morning, when the Supreme Court released it's ruling on the health care law, CNN said it was struck down. Imagine my confusion when KELOLAND news (the local news channel) said it was upheld. Sure enough, CNN made a big mistake, jumping the gun and saying the law was overturned when in fact it wasn't. Fox News also jumped the gun too.

It's the 21st century "Dewey Defeats Truman", as quoted from Yahoo News.

Will I still watch CNN, despite the fact that they tend to sensationalize news and they made this big of a mistake? Probably. I don't like Fox News, so it's either CNN, CBS, or MSNBC for me.
