The Spam Thread!
Well, I have been successful in watching some movies during the evening to help me keep my mind off endless internet use. However, I have since gone back to school, and I even have a 120 hour internship at a radio station on the reservation (a good locally owned station, not a corporate jukebox, but I digress), so on some nights I may not watch movies or TV shows.

I will do my movie/TV viewing mostly on the weekends, which for me, are from Thursday night through Sunday night. I will try to squeeze in movies during the week, but depending on how tired I am or if I have some homework to do, I may not be in the mood to see a movie. Instead, I may find time to play some casual games on Greta or my game systems.

This really isn't any sort of solid schedule, but it's the best I can do to balance my school life and home life. Besides, I need to begin watching my massive DVD collection anyway, or play all the games I do own.

Now, the movies that I have seen so far...

"The World of Hans Christian Andersen", a rare 1971 animated film from Japan. Cute to the max!

"The Point", also from 1971, but this one is somewhat special. I remember seeing parts of this film on my local PBS channel on Thanksgiving Day 1994 or 1995. It wasn't until 2004 that I tracked down what it was, ordered it from eBay and watched it. Seeing it again, it's a excellent animated film that deserves more attention.

"The Legend of Hiawatha" An hour long 1988 animated film based off the song somewhat. Nothing too special, but interesting nontheless.

"Alice of Wonderland in Paris". Here is an interesting title...from my favorite animation director Gene Deitch. Adaptations of several children's books with a wraparound involving Alice wanting to go to Paris.

Well, the Wii U launch price has been announced. The most basic model with 8gb internal memory and one controller will cost $299.

I will hold on to Elsie tightly...and hope that Nintendo doesn't leave older Wii users in the dust when it comes to the VC and Wii Shop.

Great. Wii U, Which I sorely need because Quetzal III has video lag issues with non-HDMI devices (whoever said LG TVs are good, is certainly not a gamer). And then there's the New iPad which I sorely need because Eva's days of usefulness will start counting down next week when iOS6 comes out for many devices except the original iPad.

And then there's still two VTech Blue Doggy toys which I've get to get, along with two new unexpected Fisher-Price puppy toys. And there's still tons of ponies...

Money not enough Sad

I'm thankful I didn't get an LG set then. My parents have an LG, but my brother picked the set for them as a Christmas gift, and they aren't gamers in the slightest. There is a reason why I chose Anna-Lena's brand name...an off-brand "iSymphony". It ended up being the same as a Haier set I wanted and there is virtually no lag over analog connections.

I used my first fall paycheck from college for a 3.5 IDE/SATA HDD enclosure, and I used up half of my paycheck. The rest will go to Mac OSX Mountain Lion and savings. As for my remaining paychecks, I am going to put away some each pay day for Black Friday 2012....which is the best opportunity to get a BluRay player.

I was going to get a Toshiba BluRay player from the ShopKo grand opening, but found out it has poor reviews and the USB video function only supports AVCHD files. I really don't need a BluRay at the present time either. My low-end Chinese DVD player will do fine. Tongue

Now, to upgrade Lilly to Mountain Lion and extract Jasper's 160gb IDE drive to place in my new external enclosure. I am making my own portable hard disk!!

One more thing.... I am currently trying out Internet Explorer.

Yes, IE. I haven't used IE like this for nearly 10 years. One plus is that hardware video acceleration works properly. Firefox doesn't have proprer hardware acceleration support with Greta's NVIDIA Optimus setup.

Well, I wanted a Sharp TV. unfortunately their smallest 3DTV is 42 inches, which is still too big for my room. Given Sharp's current financial difficulty, the size of a typical house in Japan, and gamers' demand for a 3DHD screen just small enough to fit into their bedroom, I say they should've listened.

Mac OSX Mountain Lion success!!

Install took about an hour, but so far, so good. Seemed a little slow at times first boot, but now it's running great. Smile

I chose the direct upgrade option, as a clean install wasn't offered.

In the case of my Hackintosh I had to like settle for a clean install as upgrading seems to break certain things.

Well, if that's the case. then I'm gonna avoid Mountain Lion.
