The Spam Thread!
I shall be posting a review of my new portable NES console, the FC Mobile soon.

However, I had to do a minor repair to it already. You know how electronics that have LCD screens have those removable protective films over the bezel that sits over the LCD? Well the FC Mobile had one, as evidenced by the air bubbles on the surface. So I proceeded to remove it.....

...and let me tell you, it was very difficult. My FC Mobile unit is actually a slightly used model, used to the point where it still had it's factory packaging, unused AV out cable, and the screen protector film was never removed. I'm not sure why, but this screen protector was really stuck on good, and it kept tearing as I tried to pull it off.

It was stuck on so well that as I was struggling to remove it, the entire plastic bezel pulled free from the casing!

I have since repaired it using a drop of super glue. But I'm still wondering why that screen protector was so hard to remove. The air bubbles indicated that it should be removed as with most other new electronics that have similar protectors and there was nothing saying otherwise that it shouldn't be removed.

Have you received your other exam scores, Sandy?

Not yet. Two of them will be tomorrow, one on Wednesday, two others on Thursday, and the last one on Friday next week because this week's Friday is a national holiday.

Well, it's definitely starting to affect me. I can't post at the board's normal URL with Safari for iOS now, and it's also affecting Opera Mini on all my phones and Chrome on ChaCha. No problems with Firefox and Seamonkey tho.

I have a hunch that the additional code Incapsula adds to the sites might have something to do with the WebKit glitch. It might be fixable, though.

What holiday would that be? I was just talking about holidays yesterday!! Smile

But anyway....it begins. The first week of seven that my parents will be away from home during the week. It will be lonely at times indeed, but these seven weeks are going to go by very quickly.

Eid-Al-Adha. An Islamic religious holiday where they slaughter up a live water buffalo in public, the meat to be given to the poor.

Today, Apple announced a fourth generation of iPad.

Say wha?

They just had a "new" iPad back in March!!

This is starting to get worrisome. Is Apple going to come out with a new iPad every six to eight months now? It's nice having yearly OSX updates for a Mac computer, but releasing a new iPad with a quicker release frequency?

And, David, there is a bit of good news here, though I'm not sure if you would count this as good news, but anyway... They also announced the iPad Mini. It's smaller than the usual iPad, and lacks an HD display (it's 1024x768), but it's somewhat cheaper than a regular iPad. Cheapest Mini model goes for $329, but it only has 16gb of memory, which won't be desirable. The 64gb WiFi model will go for $529.

The iPad Mini may not have an HD display, but it will have the benefit of running iOS6 AND no slowdown either. That is...if Apple doesn't make the iPad Mini obsolete within a years time.
