Angel, I have a friend who will only talk to me in-person for the same reasons your mother won't talk to you. I think it's silly.

It makes me really sad. Sad

So I'm up at 5am, been playing lots of fun games with my friends. It really makes the time just flow by.

Alexia has been depressed lately, but I've been trying every day to bring some smiles to her face. She just is bored.. we'll do some different stuff on her days off coming up.

I'm glad I got a good amount of cleaning done last night. People keep showing up here more often these days..
It's fun to say berry! I berry talk all the day through!

Hey Angel, have you played Animal Crossing: City Folk? I mentioned earlier that I presently do, even though the game is five years old now, and that Nintendo may shut down it's online capabilities soon. If you had an AC:CF town, what was it like?

Tech stuff below...
-----------------------
In other news, my mom got a nice new HP All-In-One PC. It's entry level tech, but it's far faster than her old computer tower. The thing is... the new All-in-One comes with Windows 8.

Windows 8.1 is coming out in the fall, but until then, she will need to get used to Windows 8 as is... and I will learn along with her too. To me, Windows 8 is very unintuitive with a keyboard and mouse; Metro is made for touch screen devices. Windows 8.1 will make it more like traditional Windows by adding a Start button and the ability to boot straight to the desktop, but there is no classic Start Menu.

Personally, I'll stick with Windows 7. If Greta ever breaks down for good.... I may just have to go to Windows 8.1, or get an Android laptop. A Macbook is another option, but it's an extremely expensive one.

You ever considered adding Start8 to your mum's PC?

Start8 is a great idea, and if I had the money, I would purchase it. (yeah, I know it's only $5 for Start8 alone, but I'm not using my credit card for that) But Windows 8.1 is coming out in the fall, and it's going to bring back the Start button. The Start menu won't still be there by default, but it's a step in the right direction.

I'm going to wait and see if my mom can get used to it. If not, I will go for Start8.

My friend... Agent0042...

It has now been two full years since he vanished.

We were great friends. We had our ups and downs, but we successfully got through them and moved on, and over time, I became a better friend in the process. We would get together on Yahoo Messenger to chat, whenever Agent was available to do so, and we would talk about things that interest us.. mainly preschool animated cartoons or goings on in our lives. We had been doing this since at least 2003, when I signed up for an old Yahoo Group called PBSKidVid to chat there and do what I do best... post screencaps of various episodes of PBS Kids programming. I can't really recall the specifics on how me and Agent grew talking... maybe I talked to him, maybe he talked to me first. Either way, we would have a good (albeit sometimes rocky) friendship from that point on.

The chats ended abruptly on June 2nd, 2011. The chat ended like it always did, with us saying a casual goodbye. Per usual, I had Messenger running to see when he would sign on again.

A week passed.

Then that week became two.

Before you know it, an entire month goes by.

No sign of Agent. Nothing.

I figured, well, maybe he is taking a small break from the Internet. He did so before. But when the months went by without anything coming from him, I started to get worried. I tried emailing him through his webmail address and through eBay, and I got nothing. A Final Fantasy forum that Agent was in was also starting to get worried about his whereabouts. We tried everything we could think of to contact him, but all efforts failed.

Maybe David is right.... Nothing Lasts Forever. We want them to, but this is reality... that simply doesn't happen. Sorry if I invoke any bad feelings in you David since you hate that song, but I'm feeling the same way.... Sad

Agent0042, this is for you. I'm not sure if you lurk here, but if you do, I want you to know that I think of you. I reminisce about the good times we had on Messenger, and I want to share my new interests with you. I do not know why you ceased almost all direct communication via Messenger or forums, but you had a lot of people worried about you for a time. I know you are still out there... you just don't communicate on forums and the like anymore.

I miss you... I miss sharing my interests... my thoughts and ideas... I miss the good times we had whenever you could come online. The main reason why I post here is I feel this is a safe place for me to continue sharing my thoughts and opinions without having others attacking you for an opinion. Without a place like this (or even my own Facebook), I would feel alone. I don't have many real life friends. You, as well as the others on this very forum, are my friends.

I don't know if you will ever return to the internet, but... I will always remember how great a friend you were to me. You helped me become a better Internet friend. Without your help, I wouldn't be able to accept others opinions as well as I do now. Because of that, you will always hold a special place in my heart. I do hope that one day, you will return and we can finally catch up on all the things that have happened while we were away. If not, I will be sad, but you will still be in that special place.

Thank you for helping me out. I really do appreciate it. Smile Remember that, always.

Kinda need a bit of help with language here. How should I describe the shape of an Aztec/Mayan Pyramid?

I feel that if I simply say "The structure has the shape of a pyramid", readers will assume the shape of Egyptian Pyramid.

And I can't say "The structure has the shape of a Mayan Pyramid" because I should write under assumption that readers doesn't know such things as Mayan Pyramid.

You should go into detail on what makes the shape of a Mayan Pyramid different from the normal pyramid. But it needs to be done in a way that the reader can visualize the pyramid correctly.

You could also encourage the reader to do their own research on a Mayan pyramid. Or include a picture.
