Let me ask everyone at this fine forum a question....

Does character development "corrupt" said character?

Im wondering this because of the above messages that David posted. The newest episode of MLP:FIM is going to air in the next few hours, and it's about Fluttershy becoming more assertive. This sounds great, as the production team is getting around to developing the Fluttershy character more, and she may get over her fears and shyness. Im happy about this...but not David apparently, who thinks this is somehow going to "corrupt" her.

David, you need to lean how to expect these things during TV shows. If a TV show is popular and lasts for more than one season, you need to adjust to the character development. Just because Fluttershy is becoming more assertive doesn't mean she is "corrupted". Would one rather grow up overcoming their fears and learning how to stick up for yourself, or would one instead be afraid of everything in life for the remainder of their lives and become a recluse?

I would pick the former. This is a difficult world, and even I can't stay afraid of certain things for the rest of my life. I have to take risks at times.

I encourage every MLP:FIM fan here to watch "Putting Your Hoof Down" when it comes on later today. I know I will.

And David...I know you posted that message to the MLP:FIM wall on Facebook. That's fine and everything, but Im worried that other fans may find that post and start teasing you over it.

Oh...one more thing. Suicide over the fact that NTV7 replaced MLP:FIM right at the last minute? Seriously?

Remember I said that the old Nick Jr. mascots "Moose A. Moose" and "Zee" got replaced on the 1st for some newer graphics package?

Did I get into a depression fit over that? No.

Did I have suicidal thoughts? Of course no!

I never had a single thought in my head to record those segments. I was saddened, yes, but I have since moved on. I know that stuff like this is bound to happen over the years.

And...Im honestly not sounding rude or mean here...but thinking about suicide because a TV show did not air as expected is silly. Again, Im not being rude or mean. It really is silly. I would never think about suicide or worse things if, say, PB&J Otter didn't come to Disney Junior later this month. Sad? Well yeah, but not totally depressed over it.

You need to seek help. I echo Grape's call from December. You probably will just skim over this message like I tend to do with forum posts you send me, and you probably won't even take my words to heart, but please, seek help. I don't want to wake up one day to find out that you took your own life over a TV show. No one here wants that. NO. ONE.

Plus, Fluttershy has always had The Stare on her side, so you can't say she was never assertive before. And having seen the episode (just now, in fact), I can tell you that you needn't worry, David. Without spoiling too much, the lesson of the episode was "find a happy medium" and one of the characters even says "You didn't change at all. You were the same old Fluttershy that we've always loved." So yeah, don't worry about upcoming episodes, especially from the guide synopsis. Those things rarely give you a good idea of what the episode is really about. Case in point, today's SSCBBA episode was supposedly about the town needing to decide whether to share their food during a long winter. Instead, the majority of it was the girls playing a winter version of capture the flag.

In other news, I saw The Lorax yesterday, and it was pretty good. Not super awesome, but definitely an enjoyable movie. And now I can't stop listening to the soundtrack. Seriously.

That's not the point. The point is NTV7 has achieved a new world record and screwed over a show seconds before it's premiere, breaking Fox's record of a airing a show for a few minutes and then pulling it in the US. And all this could've been avoided if Hasbro had listen to my aunt and withdraw NTV7's rights and give them to a different channel, but no, they were overconfident that NTV7 would treat them nice...

As for the suicide thing, if some guy can do it over BSG, why can't I do it over MLP? They both have 3LAs, right?

You don't know if NTV7 has actually replaced MLP:FIM for that Lily the Witch show. For all I know, it could be a genuine error on the channel's part and they showed Lily by pure accident. That can happen in the TV business.

Suicide, for whatever reason, is just plain wrong. Who in their right minds would just give up their life? I wouldn't, nor would anyone else here for ANY reason. Suicide is stupid, and the wrong answer for anything. It won't make things better. It will just make things worse than they already are.

3LAs? What's that?

This is a question for Evalana...

Im confused about Fluttershy's stare ability. Doesn't it go against her element of kindness? It can help her animals from disobeying her, but it always seems to scare them into doing what she wants.

I don't think so. They're keen on screwing over the shows. They've screwed over Arthur, they've screwed over Caillou. What makes you think this time is different?

Try living in a country with an oppressive government like Cuba, China, or oh, Malaysia. Maybe you'll change your mind when told only the Sultans and Ministers are allowed to have Big Ugly Dishes while common people are only allowed to have "government-approved dish systems" like Astro (truths: ownership of Big Ugly Dish receivers in Malaysia is illegal without a license. And as far as I know, the licenses are never granted to common people), the Internet is censored for common people "for their own good", and that posting any critical opinion against the government's policies in blogs or print media makes you a "troublemaker" and will nail you either house arrest or sent off to a detention camp similar to what you guys call gitmo. Heck, an Erykah Badu concert got cancelled recently because of some stupid thing about one of the temporary tattoos bearing the word "Allah" that she was wearing on a photoshoot whose image showed up on a local tabloid. If something that stupid can cause her a ban, how about that fake Fox image that showed up on Cracked?

Yes, I know this post will potentially get me in trouble. I don't care anymore.

So? Taking your own life is still the wrong answer. You will hurt not only yourself, but your friends and family as well. Just imagine how I, Evalana, Grapes, Angel, Agent0042 (our missing friend), and everyone else here would feel if you chose to go the suicide path. We would be crushed. Trust us.

There are things in life we just have to deal with, and living in a country like Malaysia is one of those things. It wasn't your choice that you had to live there, and it is sad to deal with the government. But you need to seek help from a professional and learn how to logically deal with these issues instead of inventing a whole bunch of various theories on why they are happening. Again, killing yourself won't solve anything...it just won't.

Well, before the episode "Stare Master" dubbed her ability The Stare, I referred to it as her going Alpha. One might think of it as her Mama Bear mode. But you have to keep in mind that just because Fluttershy represents the element of kindness doesn't mean that she's going to display it every second of the day. None of the mane six do. Rarity is often selfish, Pinkie Pie gets bummed out, Twilight forgets she can teleport, Rainbow Dash has been less-than-loyal, and even Applejack lies (though not well).

You try to deal with a bunch of half-wits who banned an Erykah Badu concert because she wore a temporary tattoo with the name of the Muslim god on her to a photoshoot and said image somehow ended up on local tabloid. In other words, you try to use logic against a bunch of s#!theads who does not have even one glimmer of logic in them.

And in case you're wondering, no, I did not preorder tickets for her show, but I would have had I know about the concert, because she was in a Dragon Tales special.

If they can do something this stupid, think of their reaction when they see said Cracked photoshop claiming that MLP:FIM teaches Christian values.
