Personally, Even when using Linux, I prefer the lightweight XFCE. Bling does absolutely nothing for me, and only deducts power that can be otherwise used to reduce a latency and increase FPS.

To me, FPS is important as is low latency. Even more so than bling.

Also, the bling causes the GPUs to run hotter when idling. I've noticed that with various systems.

The car was found. Some ridiculous person illegally towed it out of a security-camera'd parking lot.

Well, one thing I noticed is that when you run DirectX games on Windows, Aero will automatically shut off right before the game launches, so the game gets all the GPU power it needs. Aero comes back on when you do exit the game, and you can see the Windows 7 Basic theme briefly before the desktop appears. It's fine for me since I don't use programs or games that require lots of power. Wink

That still doesn't make the GPU run cooler though. In retrospect, I think Aero is what may have caused Chrysanthemum's GPU damage, but that was back when Vista first came out and Chrysanthemum was shipped with Windows XP. With Greta, the switchable graphics means that the NVIDIA GPU sits idle when it's not used, and the Intel HD Graphics 3000 handles Aero.

Even so, Greta never gets worringly hot like Chrysanthemum did. Greta does get warm, more so than Wendell's netbook-class processor, but it's still isn't cause for concern. When you aren't playing any games or using programs that use the NVIDIA 610m, she is only warm on the bottom, which is expected. The keyboard never gets hot and the fan blows out hot air when needed. When you are using the NVIDIA 610m, the touchpad gets warm, which is probably where the GPU sits under. Once you are done with your game, the touchpad cools down again.

That was a close call. Did the guy make any sort of claim on why it was towed?

Lol, I finally finished the main campaign of GTA: The Lost and Damned. And without getting busted, which was a relief - I only got killed four times.

Isn't Menards a wonderful place?

I'm tired now though. Very long day. Will have my full review of tablet tomorrow. And yes, it's replacing my old one. It takes time to find the perfect Android tablet without spending $300+.
