The Spam Thread!
I think I figured out Wade's problem. It's not his ISP, it's cloudflare. Or rather, wanton conflict between cloudflare and spamhaus, which got carried over to the PHPBB DNS blacklist. Seriously, spamhaus is run by noobs, they actually called cloudflare a host, when it's just a reverse caching proxy service! On the other hand, cloudflare would've done good to disable the service of those that're using them for fraud and spamming instead of turning a deaf ear.

Either way, turning off the blacklist should ease things up now.

Or it might be due to the DNS blacklist setting that I forgot to turn off.

Oh THANK YOU MUCH!!! Smile Smile Smile

I was going to post again this afternoon, and the blacklist came up again.

Hopefully this is all sorted out now.

BTW, I'm in Sioux Falls right now on a small trip with my parents. And coming up next...the post I wanted to post this afternoon.

Oh poor Pinch...

My first MP4 player that I regularly used. Fully customizable desktop and startup/shutdown images, an excellent FM radio, along with the usual music functions.

And then I had to remove her without Safely Removing the Hardware. Sad

Normally, some players would have no problem with that, but this time, she got stuck at a "Updating Playlists" screen, and so, I turned her off using the master switch and turned it on again, hoping it was just a temporary problem.

Pinch would never wake up again.

Since then, I have got a myriad of other MP4 players, which are Hazel, Jelly, and Nora. They assist me with the FM radio recording I do, but only Hazel comes close to matching Pinch's radio reception quality. And on top of that, none of them are as customizable as Pinch was. No custom wallpapers or startup/shutdown images. Sad

I am trying to see if any Menards I go to still has some leftover stock of those "Altus" MP4 players, which is what Pinch was. I may not find one again, but I do have a slight hope that I do find another one.

And if I do, Pinch shall live again.

Since then, Hazel is my main player, with Nora as a backup with all my Christmas music. Jelly only records FM, and the others may join in on that at certain times. I am testing out a Polaroid iPod Nano knockoff, and while the battery life is good, it has no support for Ogg Vorbis files! I may end up scrapping the Polaroid.

NVM. Altus != Atlus. My mistake.

That is all.

I was about to go on a rant on how the next PS3 game by Atlus would be region-locked (being the first PS3 in the world to be so), and how it would spark off other publishers to use them as an excuse to region lock their games too. EA in particular, they're snobs who believe that Asians should be charged more for a game just cause.

Region-locking sucks. Besides, it also serves to encourage piracy and stuff. The same goes in Germany when gamers there are forced to import games from other PAL-region countries like the UK as localised builds of M-rated games are ridiculously censored to the point that the German government seems to treat games as mere playthings and gamers as kids.

It's nice to have a region free DVD player. I hacked a couple in the past with secret menu codes, and one I bought at Menards on Black Friday was Region Free out of the box! Better, with some movies, the player skips past all the unskippable stuff, going straight to the feature!

I know DVD movies aren't games, but they are region locked nonetheless.
