Has the test.strawberryforum.org link been switched off? The link kept redirecting me to the default board link with the old problem still existing, and I have to use the workaround again.

I think you have to enter a /board/ at the back

for example: http://test.strawberryforum.org/board/

Ah yes, I forgot about that one. Usually Chrome completes the address for me, but today my laptop broke down and now I'm borrowing my brother's. Glad I've saved all important data to external HD just a few hours prior. Lucky coincidence?

As for your laptop, what happened to it? Hard drive failure? Blue screen?

Okay Google Play... can you explain why you say Bejeweled 2 is incompatible with my new 7'' capacitive-screen tablet, while Amazon AppStore flags it as compatible, and allows me to install?

The game runs great Google! Why not detect it properly for my tablet?

Well, at least there is one way Amazon AppStore is useful.

Teletubbies Tinky Winky, LAA 4, Republic of Armenia and the Bill on the slow red square properties. Red square, we hope that Taiwan will take part in painting Chinese characters. Tilitobiland and the inner landscape of a house full of weapons, big up burning branches. Looking for Teletubbies and hats and everything nice.

Can't boot. It always made it to the desktop, but then immediately hangs. Clicking around makes a pop up of "Microsoft Windows is not responding", and terminating it will render even ctrl+alt+del useless.

Since all important data are already saved, I brought it to my friend's shop for reformat.

Looks like a random background process began to eat up all available CPU cycles after the desktop is loaded. When that happens, the system just locks up as you described.

You could have booted into Safe Mode to try and find what program may have been causing the issue or to initiate a Spyware/Malware scan.

It appears that this may have been one of those fake AV or security malware that caused that popup message and resulting lockup. Did you download any sort of program before the lockups started happening?

I discovered a difference in how you get ad-free Angry Birds on Google Play... it's an in app purchase, which is offered when you close a banner ad. Also, the Amazon version doesn't have the upgrade store or the Mighty Eagle either.

The only app that was a separate premium was Angry Birds Space. Angry Birds Star Wars is ad free, and the app itself is free.

I think the BSOD may also have something to do with your hard drive acting up. A CHKDSK may save the day in that case.

Since that cheap Android ICS tablet that was once called Herman is no longer my first tablet of choice, I decided to have fun and learn how Rockchip firmware flashing works.

I got the firmware for that particular tablet, Curtis LT7052 off their website. It appeared to be the same as the firmware that was preinstalled, so I figured just reflash it for fun.

Here is where things start getting interesting. In order for your PC to update the firmware on a Rockchip tablet, you need to have a USB driver for said products. While Curtis did provide the firmware IMG and upgrade tools in a ZIP file, they did not include the RK29 USB driver!! I had to go download the driver off a link I found on Slatedroid.com.

Afterwards, the upgrade went as described in the poorly translated instruction file. Android rebooted and presented me with the stock desktop.

However, I noticed something I didn't see on the app launcher before.... a "SHOP" link. That wasn't there with the old firmware. I click on it, and it's Android Market...the old version!

This is weird. A firmware file that appeared to be the exact same as the one that came on my tablet, but instead is a slight upgrade that provides Google Play?

That is strange and awesome at the same time.

The awesomeness subsides however....due to the tablets horrid resistive touch screen and battery life.
