The Spam Thread!
Blackberry Bun Wrote:Kinda small but annoying problem here.

My Linksys WRT54GL router randomly disconnects every connections, wireless and wired, on about once-a-day basis. It usually only lasts for a second, so there's not much problem. The thing is, the one second is enough to kick me out from the MMO game I usually play. Anybody has any insight on this? Thanks.

My first thought is if the one-second connection loss could be caused by your ISP? If you have another router on hand, you can hook that up for a day to see if the same connection outage occurs. If it does, then that means the ISP (or some other broadband equipment inside your home or building) is at fault.

If the connection loss goes away with the other router, but returns with the Linksys, I would then suspect it's the router causing the issue.

I'd say go for Asus if the router is indeed at fault. One of my friends at the Downfall Parodies forum is vouching on them, so yeah.

My suspicion is your ISP is renewing it's DHCP lease (read: IP address). Most ISPs in this region of Asia force routers to change IP address once a day to make it difficult for people who're hosting personal websites at home. This is so they can force people to buy server space from them to do hosting, or buy a more expensive "fixed IP" plan that won't do this (apparently, they don't care about Dynamic DNS services because, hey, knocking your website offline for a few seconds each day is enough to drive some people angry). So yes, nothing you can do, it's the ISP being stupid.

Local ISP's being bonkers again... Sparta

Mum says they paid the phone bills already and yet the said telco's blocking us from accessing the web through their service, claiming we still have an unpaid balance.

When it comes to Sofia the First... I tend to find Clover my favorite character even though I have only seen bits and pieces of the show, mostly ones that feature said rabbit character.

Then again, I like rabbit characters in TV shows, and in real life too. Smile

More reason to just dump PLDT if just to teach them a lesson in customer satisfaction, innit?

More like another reason for the government and their cronies to buzz off and step down from office.

In a few weeks, large crowds, long lines, and fist fights will greet our fine holiday of Thanksgiving with Black Friday. Though we don't get as bad of fights or violence like in other states, it does get crowded.

Now, I wait for the Menards ad leak. I hope it's better than what was on offer last year.
