If that wasn't your intention, I apologize- like I said before, I was cyberbullied by the worst of said fanbase, and shortly after, met someone else who have also been cyberbullied by the same (and apparently I got off easy for not liking Chrysalis and just being called horrible names. She actually received death threats via forum PM and e-mail for just liking G3). Hence my conclusion of said fanbase's behavior.

That's fine. You can always voice it out when you're ready. I'm open to reconciling.

Well, I need to think about this for a few days. I won't take too long. I just need to ensure everything will be okay going forward if I do decide to reconcile.

In the end though, I do thank you for being honest in your explanation. I really do appreciate that. Smile

Come come, let's have a big group hug.

Alright, so I recently tried to ask in Tech Support Guy about the computer freeze problem I've been investigating here as well, in hopes that they might have more insight and experience on this. In the end, while I appreciate their effort on being helpful, I get very little new info.

Here's the link to the thread if anyone here wants to see:

One thing I'm still not sure is if it is actually possible for a bad video card to hard freeze the whole PC system every once in a while, but works perfectly otherwise.

Well, in my experience, it's very possible. Usually the video card freezes up and times out, which causes the entire system to lock up as a result. I've had a pair of NVidia GTX260s that became like that after a 4-hour-long Portal marathon. Apparently the game pushed the cards too hard that it overheated and caused them to break down despite the amount of cooling I had in the case. This is why my computers sit right in front of the air conditioner now. Sure, I can go water cooling, but I'm afraid of leaks causing short circuit.

I suppose EA has always been a Mac fanboi since their earliest games were for the Mac. But seriously, while the PC version of The Sims 2 is left for dead and the The Sims 4 still has a long way to go to be like The Sims 2 (and will require the constant angry rants of the players with the intensity of a thousand suns over the next few years to keep EA on their toes), the Mac version is not only receiving a update that brings support for Intel Macs, but also 4K UHD support and support for modern graphics cards? SMH. How many people are going to take out a 10-year loan just to buy a Mac Pro to play this? It took me hours to mod the Windows version of TS2 by hand to support 1080p (wtf... instead of just one config file, I had to modify 10 of them. Why don't they just give a freaking custom resolution flag that can be set from the command line like SimCity 4?!?), and even then there are still quirks that prevent the game being fully enjoyable. And here EA has patched the Mac version to support 4K and modern video cards...

And it comes with all these to boot.

Despite taking some good steps with Origin, EA is still wrong in the head in a lot of aspects. Why can't they freaking patch up the PC version to support modern hardware as well instead of pissing off the TS2 fanbois by saying "TS2 is dead. Hey, buy the brand spanking new TS4, now with even less features and stupid DRM that will eat your mobile broadband bandwidth if you dare play the game on a laptop in public places!"?

At least they gave the PC version away for free tho. But it looks like crap at 1080p on my SLIed dual GTX650Ti Boost setup...

Not to mention that I get graphics corruption issues on my rig on certain occasions. EA sure is a strange bunch of greedy headcases.

I long for old EA from the 80s and 90s, before they started caring about sports and yearly releases. EA did put out quite a lot of good titles back in the day such as "B.O.B." for the SNES and "Rolo to the Rescue" for the Mega Drive/Genesis.

As for 4K, I'm not quite that ready for 4K, seeing as how I just got upgraded to 1080i HD satellite on November 3rd. There aren't even that many broadcasters in the US providing 4K content. 3DTV has fizzled out, with only a few channels providing 3D HD content and all have gone under.

For some reason, I never cared to get into "The Sims", or any other realistic simulation game like SimCity. Animal Crossing I can play because it balances realism and fantasy, and it has a lot of fun mini games and tasks to keep me interested. I think "The Sims" does have mini games and the like as well, but it just doesn't look interesting to me, probably because it doesn't have cute animals as NPCs. Tongue

Again, each for his own. I'm a huge fan of building sims. But well, I think EA is definitely off their rockers for this. I'm not ready for 4K either, especially since all the existing 4K monitors are at least 28" in size and 4K TVs are at least 55", while the maximum headspace I have for monitors are 24" and the maximum headspace I have for TVs are 32". Not to mention that their current prices are insane. As for 3DTVs, well, no one wants to watch TV in 3D. Gaming, however, is a different matter. The only reason for having a 3DTV? 3D Gaming.

Exactly my point. Although in my case, the worst that happens are those black boxes that appear underneath said sims. Not as bad as yours where the sims appears to have their face punched in, but still annoying nonetheless.
