The Spam Thread!
I could learn about a slipstreamed XP disc, but the method I use works fine as it is. I just need to keep the SP2 and SP3 redistributables on a separate CD-R along with Timothy's hardware drivers.

As for Ruby and the Audigy SE, turns out I may need her integrated audio after all. I tried recording with Audition, and no matter what settings I try in Audition or Windows audio settings, there are always brief skips in any line-in recording every 8 to 12 seconds. I then tried Audacity and NCH Mixpad and while they record without any skips, the resulting file is slightly lower pitched than normal. >.<

[strike]But I have a plan... I will see if her integrated audio will handle line-in duties while passing on that audio to the Audigy SE Line-in with a 3.5mm cable.[/strike]

EDIT: Audigy SE and Audition getting along now. I had to downgrade the drivers, specifically to a version issued around the time Vista was released. They are quite old, but they work and Audition is no longer having recording issues.

I will admit, this was an impulse buy. If it wasn't for their FlexPay option, I wouldn't have purchased. Presenting the "DGTV" Android HDMI adapter which arrived at my door today...

This here is an archived TV presentation similar to one I saw last week. Below is what came in the mail along with the HDTV output..

BTW, I don't live in Martin. Geolocation in rural areas can be very off the mark without GPS.

Does it live up to the claims the HSN hosts made? Well it certainly does in relation to the mysterious "Air Mouse" remote. I don't know how it works, but it uses 2.4ghz RF along with what seems like an accelerometer. Moving the pointer on the screen is very easy and accurate. Perhaps Nintendo could have done a similar thing with the Wii Remote... imagine no sensor bar! Tongue

As for the device itself, first impressions are rather good. It's a lot more responsive than that other Android HDMI thing I found at Menards. It can even play Angry Birds without too much lag. You need to play via the "Air Mouse" however and it doesn't take long to get used to controlling the game this way. Video streaming is good. Stutters here and there, but nothing too distracting.

I don't think I'll root this device as the stock OS is far better configured than that other Android HDMI thing I tried. More specs later after I run benchmarks and stuff.

Nice, wonder what SoC that thing of yours runs on. If it's the Rockchip one my friend at YTMND was raving about some time ago, it would be golden. Wink

Yeah, it's been a while, not to mention that you don't seem to show up so frequently here like you used to.

A few other members I noticed that haven't been frequenting the forum are Evalana and Angel. Evalana seemed to just disappear completely.

Angel still seems to hang out here on rare occasions, but 'tis sad that Eva went off the grid.

I still see Angel on Facebook from time to time. Evalana tho, well, I don't have her as a friend, so I don't know. If anyone has her as a friend on facebook, please invite her to the group.

In light of Ben Heck's recent comparison between the SNES and Genesis, I began listening to the soundtrack for The Lion King for both platforms again (okay, so my Mac Mini is insisting that I download XCode and iMovie three times over. I've downloaded about a whopping 15GB of files now and it's still downloading). Anyways, I just realized something else aside from the voice samples that are missing from the Genesis version. The SNES version of "Can't Wait to be King" is slower. About 3.985-3.990% slower. Additionally, it's not even the full song, they just took the music up until after the second chorus. The Genesis version sounds like crappy AdLib MIDI, yes, but it's the full damn song -.- Makes me wonder how the Amiga version would sound like if the level wasn't cut.

Yeah, I could check out the PC version, but well, I can't get past the first stage- the version on Abandonware sites seems to be cracked instead of the original, and not very well cracked I may add- the roar bar for some reason doesn't fill...
