Even burgers are square now - KFC and Wendy's make square burgers.

In the US of A, Wendy's has always had square patties on their "Old Fashioned" line of burgers. The buns are still round though.

An American fast food restaurant called Krystal has served square burgers with square buns since 1932.

Weekdays routine: Depart from home to work at 5.25 AM and arrived back home between 7.00 - 8.00 PM

On weekdays I never get to see my house under bright sky now.

Blackberry, that's so sad. Sad Is it your first job? When did you get it?

Actually, I also don't have time for anything since I got a job. I have my job since December, and this is my first job. And I feel like I'm drowning since then. I don't really have time for programming and writing my short story.

When I started, I worked in office time - from 9:00 to 17:00 all weekdays. Then I was put in 2 shifts. Now one week I work from 6:00 to 14:00, and the other week from 14:00 to 22:00. This week I was in the late shift. But they plan to introduce continuous shifts! Even though that'll come with much more money, I guess it's going to be Hell. There will be night shifts from 22:00 to 6:00, and then we also have to work on weekends in 12-hour shifts. Rest-days will be present by a complicated scheme. For example, in continuous shifts, you might have to work all days of a week, except Wednesday and Thursday. Of course, whenever you have a rest-day, other shifts are still working. Therefore sometimes continuous shift is calles 4 shifts - a morning shift, an afternoon shift, a night shift, and a resting shift. Well, it won't be easy...

You guys are making me very grateful I worked from 8 AM - 4:15 PM, sometimes shorter days on random holidays nobody celebrates. I think the bank system, the school system, and Hallmark just make up holidays for schools and banks. I put Hallmark on the list because they sale greeting cards for the holidays nobody celebrates. Despite grading papers, which I didn't do much of as an assistant anyway, teachers do have fewer hours than most. Actually, I was only paid for half my hours because of economy budget cuts. While our work schedules aren't overwhelming (unless you don't understand children, in which case, why are you in this business?), our salaries are pathetic.

In the old days in my country, teachers were not allowed to keep their jobs if they married. These days, teachers basically have to be married or be living with someone else who makes more money or have a second job. Then again, in the old days, teachers usually had no homes and lived with their students' families. They would go to different families on a weekly or monthly or yearly basis, depending on how many students they had.

People tell me I should have become a history professor. I would have made more money and I do love to talk about history. It's just that I much prefer working with children to working with adults.

We celebrate the "triplets'" turning two years old tomorrow, and it's going to be BIG. I've been counting down the hours until we officially start the fun, and they don't even realize what's going on!

Kiwi, I have twin daughters and I have an adopted son born nine days before the twins in the same year. (My signature is set in the future... ) We celebrated on June 30th and July 9th last year. The year before, our son obviously wasn't with us on his birthday. Starting this year, we will be celebrating the three births on the same day unless there ever comes a year when any of triplets-by-love want to do otherwise.

What are the names of some of these obscure holidays? I thought that St. Patricks Day was obscure enough as not many people celebrate that here, and that holiday wasn't created by a bank or corporation.

In fact, in order to know which holidays were actually created by banks, schools, and Hallmark Cards, you have to do some research on Google. Smile I think there are holidays out there that came from banks and schools, but I believe most of them weren't created by those parties.

Well, it's sad that System Administrators day isn't celebrated over here in Malaysia. Otherwise I'd at least have one extra day off...

Yeah it's my first job, and I got it through relatives connection. The main cause of the seemingly harsh departure and arrival time is traffic jams. The city where I live is infamous for its massive traffic jams. Departing early is the only option to avoid stressful drive. Things are worse when going home because there's no way around the traffic jams so I just have to grit my teeth and endure.

Have I mentioned that I work on Saturdays as well? Only till 12 o'clock, though.
And starting August I might have to work on Sundays as well, though not every Sunday.

In any case, I'll be just fine.

Sounds sorta like my second job, which is at a college.

I know how it's like to wake up extremely early tho- my first job required that to avoid traffic jams too (yeah, Jakarta isn't the only city with that problem). Thank goodness I eventually got a job near enough to my house to avoid jams.

Latest news is that the Malaysian government is now banning yellow clothing. Apparently only the royal family may wear yellow now. The government has been actively arresting people who wear yellow clothing in the past few days, but their excuse is that anyone who wear yellow are sympathizers of the opposition. Wait, what? I thought we were a democracy!?!

Up until the British conquered us in the late 1800s, Malaysia had a law that states only the royals may wear yellow clothing. Heck, that archaic law held up in the state of Johore up until the late 80s from what I understood. And now it appears that they want to change things back to the way it was.

What the heck? First it's internet censorship, then they started charging taxes for prepaid phone credits. Now this?

Three little people are two years old! I am so tired from going non-stop all day. It was fun, though there was no need for me to try constantly getting us to a million places. The birthday kids each fell asleep at different parts of the non-stop day. I feel like collapsing asleep myself.

Dear Greeting Card Companies,

Two-year-olds do not need stickers and glitter in their birthday cards. That is not safe. Who on earth thought that was a good idea? What if they were to swallow those things?

Mostly days in honor of political figures and certain workers. Some are stranger. National Mustard Day occurs in the week before school starts. Is there a celebration of mustard? No.

I hope you truly will be, because that sounds exhausting just thinking about it. I could never work daily on construction, even though I'm helping to build a house. I think the bank and school holidays exist in number as they do in large part because, sexist against my own gender as this is going to sound, most women tire easier than most men. Women are the majority of employees in banks and schools, at least on this side of the hemisphere and in most countries as far as schools go.

David's mention of Berry Brick Road just reminded me, the name Gladys has a crummy meaning. Its roots are in the name Claudia, the female form of Claudius. There was a man named Claudius was a Roman emperor despite being born blind and unable to walk.

Anyway, Gladys also means other things. What I also find interesting is that Gladys and Claudia hold the record as the name used most often for my archetype. I lost count of how many times they have been used that I know of, though. That was among the things lost on my dead hard drive.
  • The name means, in alphabetical order:

  • Berry
  • Countryside (Possibly)
  • Disabled
  • Princess
  • Sword

The middle definition is the most commonly known definition. I, ah, actually just found out all those other meanings tonight. Huh.

One of those naming websites had a link to a gender predictor for unborn babies. How you can predict gender based on dates and ages is beyond me. I don't think you really can. Since I was in the mood for coincidences not being coincidences, I decided to give it a try. My age is off the charts by one year. So much for that. It predicted wrong for me last time, anyway. (You could technically say it predicted right, in the sense that I did gain a boy.) It predicted right for Dee, who probably didn't use it.
