Don't worry, she's OK now. Power supply appears to have crap-pasted itself.
Prudie Prudie Prue, where are you?

This is a summary of the story in a flash game I recently played, and in my opinion the story is... unsatisfactory.

What would the name of that game be, then?

In this game we play as the paper plane.
Hmmm, Newgrounds is better known for animutation than games.
Maybe one of you more electronically inclined folks can help me out here. Okay, as you recall, I recently bought a BD-rom drive, and it takes up two USB ports. So I picked up this USB Hubman (mostly because I was buying something else on the site and it was on sale). Now, for some reason when I plug the BD-rom into it, the computer doesn't recognize it. The drive works fine if it's plugged into the computer's ports, but not the hub. I know it isn't the hub itself, since other things work with it. Is there anything I can do to make the BD-rom work with this hub, or is it a lost cause?

Sounds like there's not enough power going into the drive. The reason a drive may need two ports is simple- the second USB plug is used purely for drawing power and no data goes through it. Most USB hubs limit the amount of power going out to a device. For flash drives and input devices, this isn't a problem since they're low power devices.

For USB hard disks and optical drives, however, this is unacceptable because they need more power to spin the motors, and those with only one cannot cannot work on hubs, and those with two will not work if you plug both connectors into the hub. However, if the hub has an additional 5VDC power input and adapter, those drives would work on it, because the power to the devices will be coming from the adapter, not the PC the hub is connected to.

Do you have an iPad, iPhone or iPod charger? The solution is to just plug the second USB plug (usually the one which is red in color, or on a thinner cable that comes out of the first plug if both plugs are black) into the iDevice charger. Alternatively, if the drive has a DC 5v power input prong, get a matching 5VDC adapter and plug it into the power input prong. That should solve the problem.

There is also a possibility that the drive may come with a normal USB cable and a 5v power input prong to USB cable, in that case the 5v power input prong to USB cable should be plugged into the iDevice charger.

I took a look at the hub, and noticed that it looks like one of those with no auxiliary power inputs, so you can't have a DC5V adapter going into that.

Well, Prudie Prue, she has come through
So does she get herself a Prudie snack?

Oh no, now you've got me imagining a certain group of four as a certain other group of four. And James is Velma, even looking like a male version of Velma. And I'm probably Fred by process of elimination, and Fred is boring. =P I can't quite decide whether me or Dee fit Fred or Daphne better, though.

Misty (Ben and Dee's dog) can be Scooby-Doo, although a female snowflake Pomeranian and a male Great Dane are... very different. But they're both dogs. =P And, yeah, Ben gets to be Shaggy. James fits Velma better than any of the rest of us fit these characters.

Pinkie Pie. That is all.

If you want to get technical, that's Futtershy, Pinkie Pie, Zipzee and Sweetie Belle in background, along with two <null>s

Yeah, there are two Pinkie Pies here. Try not to think too hard about it
