Nope, the idea was to reuse the thing with my KVM and wireless set. Since I need to use the one receiver with 4 different PCs through the KVM switch.
Okay, bumped the RAM up to 8GB.

And I'm impressed. The disk thrashing reduced to the point that it has almost stopped, and Team Fortress 2 is actually very playable. The framerate's good and much more consistent with much fewer drops now, and the lag has significantly reduced.

Also, somewhat surprisingly, the video RAM allocation has went up to 512MB from 288MB. That may explain for the smoother graphics.

Yeah, since there's less virtual memory to swap at and more real RAM to mess with. Try running GTA IV with only 1GB RAM and you'll lol at what happens. Troll

Well, idk. I have a Linux box with only 2 GB in it. It doesn't thrash it's HD nearly as much even with three browser tabs pointing at various flash content. With only 2GB of RAM, the Mac Mini actually became somewhat unresponsive when the same amount of tabs pointing at flash content was opened. Only after the upgrade did the issue stopped.
We're probably going camping next week, as in seven or eight days from now! Next week is a holiday for the kids, no school. James still has work and Ben might have work next week. (Ben has a shop open in the afternoon and early evening, which he can close up whenever he needs or wants to. He does sometimes cater for events, though, hence why he could have work next week.)

If we camp nearby, in a certain campground in particular, the men can just drive to the campground after their work. For James, it would be a shorter drive than driving home.

I know, I know. We always rent a cabin and go camping. It's the main affordable sort of vacation we can all agree on. We've come to the conclusion that we soon need to buy a motor home for these adventures, instead of having The Adventures of Who Sleeps Where in Rental Cabins, though a motor home can wait until next time. The cabins at camp grounds don't account for a double family of our number.

This time, I want camping to be the main focus, not places near the campground. The last time that happened was on my second honeymoon, and let's just say camping still wasn't quite the main focus there. On this coming trip, I want the older kids to have lots of nature adventures and, if we go to the aforementioned certain campground, we'll see attractions within the campground: big long log and stone castles that are nature and history museums hidden in the woods. This is something I didn't know about, and the reason I suggested we go. Everyone likes the idea, so it's now a matter of what doctors say and if the cabins have already been claimed for next week.
I hope you'll have fun there. Of course, watch your health. Smile
Dork that I am, I have already made an AMV for Cherry Jam, using a song from a VeggieTales episode. But it fits, it so does. There's another that I'm bound to make once the new eps actually start airing, but we'll see if that actually comes to fruition.

Eh, you don't want to see my AMV of MLP:FIM set to the G3 MLP opening theme Tongue
Big Grin Here's hoping the trip will be possible! By the way, James' initial reaction was kind of funny.

Quote:James: "Um, I don't believe we can. Camping isn't something we can safely plan right now."

Me: "Sure it is! We see what cabins are available, we make arrangements, we pack, and we go. There. That's the plan."

James: "Oh, you mean that kind of camping."

Me: "Like we always do. Did you think I meant roughing it in the middle of nowhere with tents?"

James: "Yes."

Me: "Actually, I was thinking of [Place] since I found out about its museums. It's closer to your work than this house is."

James: "Oh, well, that makes sense!"

We'll "rough it in the middle of nowhere with tents" as a group, some day, though not for a long time. I don't know why James thought I would want to do that of all ways to camp next week.

Because that's the default definition of "camping"? Went you said you're going camping, that was the first thing that popped into my mind too. Renting a cabin doesn't really constitute as camping in my mind- that's more towards "vacationing in a motel".
