Hmm, just thought about this, well since this is a Strawberry Shortcake board and all: if Google would name a future Android version after the dessert, wonder how American Greetings would respond to the codename. Imo it's either be a headcase and send a cease-and-desist, or do it Nestle-style and collab with Google.

Well, if they went the collab route with Google, they would have to find a way to promote said partnership without being too "girly" just to appeal to the majority of Android developers. Companies are making inroads at eliminating gender stereotypes, but we still have a way to go unfortunately. Sad Anyway....

A rather neat way to do this, I could imagine, is to use the Strawberry icon from the SSC 2004 logo, make it a white silhouette like other Android icons, and abbreviate the release as "SSC", with the full name underneath.
Hoohaw Day is a-coming. One more day... or technically, tomorrow as it's early morning here as I type.

Also attempting a dual monitor setup on Audrey, and found out that the LCD panel has a rather deep scratch on it. Sad Must find a different monitor now if I want to continue this setup.

Did it affect the LCD array itself, i.e. did it bleed?
huckleberrypie Wrote:Did it affect the LCD array itself, i.e. did it bleed?

Doesn't appear to be. Looks like a deep surface scratch, which I thought was dirt at first. I already tried water and cloth and cleaning pads that can be used on LCDs, but it's still there.

In other news, I will be able to restore Norton Internet Security soon, as I will have money to get a new subscription. Avira Free Antivirus is alright, but still has some annoying aspects, like ads that pop up above the system tray on occasion, and program updates restoring the Avira desktop icon that I don't want there as I have a very clean desktop. There is no way to disable that either. Free users also have to use a community help forum for support. You can't even email the developers if you have the free Avira.

I may just register for their online forum and offer up the suggestion anyway. I'm sure I'm not the only one who likes having a very clean desktop. I launch all my programs from the taskbar myself.
Today is May 1st. To many, it's May Day. To me, it's Hoohaw Day, because Disney Junior brought back PB&J Otter. Now, the archive quest begins.... but I need to find good brand DVD-R discs.

I was looking at those "archival" gold DVD-Rs on eBay, and some are quite affordable. Will I bite? Perhaps, but I need to see what they have locally first.

Anyway, my aunt and I just went to the local cell store to fetch a new phone. There aren't any Alcatels in stock, but I got a Lenovo A369i which is pretty much the same banana as the One Touch Pop I was supposed to buy. They have the Nokia X, too, but the Len's performance is 'swell for the price compared to Micr..., er, Nokia's Android device. The latter scored around 7k on Antutu compared to over 9000 with MT6572 devices.

I need a new phone as well, since my previous phone had a ride through the washing machine thanks to my forgetfulness. At least it wasn't a smart phone. Tongue

Currently, I'll just have to get a replacement, but in October, I finally have a chance to upgrade. I may just get another Flip Phone since Hazel handles my Android needs, but I'm also considering a Blackberry Q10. It's a smartphone, but it has a physical keyboard for texting.

As for my Antutu score, Hazel scores a 9282. I used Antutu X this time around. In comparison, a Galaxy Note 3 is close to a 35000.

Hazel is a previous generation Galaxy Tab 2, so the lower score is expected. Even so, she still works well for my needs.
Assuming that your Android tabs serve you well, I'd say you should get the Blackberry. There aren't any much of them QWERTY Androids on the market afaik.

I named my phone Caroline after Caroline Abbott, aka the 1812-era kid from American Girl's historical roster.

Yes, Hazel serves me well. She outperforms all the cheap China-tabs that I have used previously. Now, I just need to get her a new faux-leather tablet cover since the current cover was inherited from my previous cheapie tablet and lacks a cutout for her built in camera.

I would love to give my new phone a name, but because all phones through Verizon Wireless require a contract, you only lease the phone if you want the cheapest price. Because of this phone leasing, I don't give such phones names. If I was able to get a truly unlocked phone, be it a Blackberry or a flip phone, then I could give it a name without problem. Leased phones must be returned upon cancellation of Verizon, AFAIK.

You can purchase the phone from Verizon, but it's not unlocked and Verizon doesn't use SIM cards like the rest of the world. If you buy the phone, it's basically tied to Verizon, even if you root it. CDMA is evil. The phone is also more expensive.

There is a GSM provider in my area, but they only have roaming in my own town. You have to go to the next town over to get GSM, which provides SIM cards.
