Looooooooooooooool! I finally got to have a bunch of rogue registry cleaner sites suspended by their webhost. I came across the said sites while I was browsing for some stuff on Yahoo! Answers, and noticed that some of the answers seem suspicious, saying that it could be a registry problem, when it's fairly obvious that the problem has little or nothing to do with the Windows registry, and that to solve it you need to visit this site and download some shady registry cleaner.
Fortunately the host did respond quickly to my inquiry, and while he did tell me that the malware in question is just plain disreputable and not that destructive, he complied to my request after a couple hours or so.
Oh, and here's a quoted "answer" from a spambot, just in case you guys come across this whenever you're asking for something regarding PC problems:
