That reminds me of a non-realistic racing game, Mario Kart Wii, simply because when I purchased my original Wii bundle in 2011, it came bundled with MK Wii and a Wii Wheel accessory for the controller. I tried it, but I felt the steering wasn't too accurate with said Wii Wheel, so I just raced with the standard Wiimote + Nunchuk setup. Funny thing? My Wiimote had the Motion Plus built in, so I dunno why steering didn't work with the wheel.

As for a actual racing wheel controller for a PC, couldn't recommend any, but perhaps Logitech or another big name brand makes such controllers?

No game system is free of shovelware, including the Nintendo Switch. Move over, Vroom in the Night Sky, there is an even worse piece of shovelware that managed to get a physical release.

I'd imagine many girls would be very disappointed by this game. Or would they? Hard to tell.

That thumbnail though. :V Tfw even Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescue plays better in comparison. Granted, the latter was a niche game for young girls and all, but even that had at least some effort rather than some pile of dung churned out in Unity and burned to a NAND cart for $30 in a half-hearted attempt to sate the interests of, well, little girls. Even if Barbie's was just as shite youngsters would gravitate over that simply because of it being a popular licence.

And that game's spartan cover art gave me an idea... Tongue
Got done with the main story in Super Mario Odyssey. I'll have to say it's one of the best Mario games in a long time, but there's still lots of FakeLongetivity Power Moons to collect.

I also went ahead and got both Williams Pinball packs for Pinball FX3. I held off for a while because of the censorship measures Zen Studios gave these tables in order to keep the all important E rating. Despite the family-friendly sanitation, the one table I tried, Medieval Madness, plays far better than the old Pinball Arcade version. It even has cool special effects that you can toggle on or off.

Speaking of Pinball, Super Mario had a table once, made by Gottlieb. I found a machine at a bowling alley late one night and played it for a bit. I really want this recreated in Pinball Arcade. Knowing Nintendo, it either won't happen or it's going to be Switch-exclusive.

Also take note of Mario's voice. This was made before Charles Martinet took on the role.

Has there actually been any Mario-themed pinball video games before? I know Nintendo did a pinball sim on the Famicom but I couldn't recall anything with the Italian plumber in it.
There is Mario Pinball Land, aka Super Mario Ball for the GBA. Developed by a British company called Fuse Games.

I recently got this off the Wii U eShop. Haven't played it yet, but after seeing a bit of this video, it looks like a really fun take on the old "Mario rescues Peach from Bowser" storyline. I must note that GBA games are best played on the Wii U gamepad due to the small resolution of the GBA. An HDTV makes the games look extremely blocky, unless you turn on the screen smoothing filter to make it look weird.

There was also a second real-world Mario pinball table by Gottlieb, called Mushroom World. It's a very rare table according to this Mario Wiki article:

Nintendo and Soulja Boy beefing with each other are basically two fails cancelling each other out:

It's long overdue for the Big N to clean up their act and be actually in touch with reality.

Ahh yes, the SouljaGame saga. What a way to end 2018, eh? A has-been rapper trying to stay relevant by releasing his "own" game consoles which are just no-name Chinese game systems preloaded with thousands of ROMs... and the systems can't emulate them properly either.

I'm constantly between a rock and a hard place when it comes to Nintendo. I really like the design of the Switch and it's wealth of good games so far, but their online service needs work when it comes to their retro game selection. Plus, I'm technically supporting their efforts to quash emulator sites by purchasing games for the Switch, but where else will I be able to play Super Mario Odyssey or other big N exclusives?

As I mentioned earlier, the Switch UI design is a lot more modern and less Fisher-Price like, but you really need to purchase a game with the console. There is no other software built in except for the mandatory eShop. Oh yeah.... a microSD card is also mandatory since there's only 32GB on board storage just to keep the price as low as possible. I'd bet people would be willing to pay a higher price if the console had far more onboard storage.

Nintendo makes one step forward, but also takes several steps back. It's as if they are trying to adapt to the times, yet are still afraid to take chances and risk alienating their hardcore fans. As if many of the same fans are becoming alienated enough...
As to how the company is still alive and kicking is beyond me. Sure, there is their own version of the reality distortion field with their loyal fanboys, but still. Nokia infamously bungled up with their "one step forward, five steps back" approach e.g. when they dismissed Android as nothing more than a Band-Aid solution, and now they're just a holding company selling licenses to companies whom they collaborate with to release devices under the Nokia brand. If it wasn't for the Big N's fans and Mario being an influential franchise, they would've shared the same fate as Nokia and Sega by now.

This guy shares my feelings on the New SMB franchise. Yes the games are fun to play but stale at the same time. This was made before NSMB U Deluxe was announced for Switch, but that is one game I won't be picking up unless it's on clearance. I have the Wii U original already.

Oh yeah, Happy New Year! Smile
