Three problems with the Youtube system:
1. One cannot embed videos from the mobile website
2. One cannot embed videos that uses the Secure Hypertext (HTTPS) link
3. One cannot embed videos using link from a URL shortener service like BIT.LY or even YOUTU.BE
We need to look into this.

I find that if I use the "youtube" tag in the post editor, copy the URL of the YouTube video up to the video ID (not the random text that might follow), place it in between the YouTube tags, and remove the s from http, the embed will work. That is how I embed YouTube videos myself.
That would be #4: Anything succeeding the code of the video (the first ampersand sign) will also cause embedding troubles.
We need to make the youtube plugin:
1. Recognize that the mobile website (m.youtube.com) or URL shortener service (youtu.be) is being used and honor the domains aside from the usual desktop-based <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.youtube.com">www.youtube.com</a><!-- w -->
2. detect that the link is using Secure HTTP and honor that in case Youtube turns off regular HTTP support.
3. Find the first ampersand after the video URL and strip it along with anything after it.

Sounds like a good plan of action. Now if we can just implement it...
That reminds me... if you are on YouTube, videos will now default to the HTML5 player based on your browser's video capabilities. There is now a possibility embeds might also become HTML5 in the future. That would break any sort of embed implementation that is currently existing or would be created for the older Flash player.
In the end though, video viewing will be far smoother and stable. It's just the embeds that might need to be changed to accommodate any future HTML5 switchover.

Turns out the TDE PCLinuxOS remaster is 32bit... not 64bit.
I found this out as I got curious and tested the official KDE4 release on the external disk. Not only is KDE4 just as fast as Trinity, it's available in 64bit format and has all the programs I want like XMMS.
I also found out that the current install can't see all available RAM either on Greta or Audrey.
[strike]So... off I go to back stuff up to the external disk and reinstall. :|[/strike]
EDIT: The install defaulted to a non-PAE kernel. Switching kernel instead.
Nah... I decided to go with the 64 bit ISO, meaning I now have to use KDE 4. In the end though, KDE 4 is not bad at all.
Pablo will also be getting PCLinuxOS soon, but I plan on either getting him the Cinnamon or MATE edition. MATE might work best since it's a fork of the old GNOME 2. GNOME 3 is too confusing for me.

You're referring to the tag, yes? PHPBB 3.1 adds support for Mediawiki-style extensions where you basically do not need to outright modify the forum core itself. While that would save us some trouble with writing a URL parser, I'm afraid 3.1x is still new and we're yet to see any decent anti-spam plugins for it.
